What’s the best motivator for hiking with kids (or anyone, really)? PIZZA! In this video, we pack our bags and hike back through the Langtang Valley. We have blue skies and nice crips hiking weather. What took us three days to hike to, we will hike back in two days. We hike past the beautiful stupas, momma yaks with their babies, and colorful villages. We stop at the tea houses we had visited earlier in the week and head back into the forests. We then enjoy the opportunity to meet a rural Nepal local family and learn about life in rural Nepal. Our adventure is coming to an end, and we can’t be more excited to have taken this journey together as a family. As we head back to Kathmandu, our kids are hyper focused on filling up on some of Nepal’s best wood fired pizza at The Roadhouse. We end the night with a delicious meal and hot showers. This is going to be a trip that our family talks about for years to come.

We are the Bags Packed Family: Jonathan and Kelly with our three children. We sold our home in Alaska, USA, seven years ago, and headed overseas. We are teachers and found fantastic teaching positions in India. Two years later, we moved to the United Arab Emirates. Three years after that, during the beginning of the pandemic, we made the move to our current teaching jobs in Indonesia. We love traveling and finding adventures as a family.
