Hi! How would you rank the forgiveness and ball speed retention across the face and low on the face for the following 4 irons? Ping i530, Taylor Made P790, Titleist T200 and Mizuno Pro 245? Thanks, Joe

i don't think i have hit the Mizuno so i cant really comment on that i would say that the p790 and the ping i530 perform verry similar but i prefer the ping to look at over the ball the Titleist is mildly les forgiving and slower ball speed but not much in it. it more depends on what you want to get out of the clubs though a lower ball speed and less forgiving will, in my opinion, make it more accurate. but you have to use what is best for you

I wonder how different to the i525 they are?

In truth not a lot I think like anything if you have the last version of the club you won’t see much difference if your clubs are let’s say 6-8 years old you probably would notice a difference.

@@KevinDelaneyPGA thanks Kevin. My comment was well intended as I tried the i525 last year and really liked it. Went for the Wilson D9 Forged in the end. 29 degree loft on the 7 is a bit too strong for me, I'd be tempted to go retro lift at 31 degrees.

Why do I get the feeling that 99.99% of the responders to these types of posts are golf pro shops and other sellers of golf equipment desperately trying to create perpetual demand for the annual "latest greatest" new golf club that literally does next to nothing to lower your actual score unless you swing changed? LOL 🙂

I do have a shop and sell clubs it’s true, but I also review things that I don’t sell and always give my honest opinion. I don’t think anyone will see much difference in clubs from one year to the next. And I think that if people want to lower scores technique and practice will have a bigger impact than equipment over a period of time.
