I love to watch live clips, and study Corrine's singing. Her voice is on level with other greats, Karen Carpenter is a voice I'd draw for comparison. It appears that Corrine makes a concentrated effort to select and reach her notes, it is enchanting to watch her, she is weaving magic into the songs. When I watch her, and I listen to the albums, I am listening with the same type of concentration: I absorb every nuance, and I appreciate the effort. She is, in every way, an artist. I was recently cleaning the first vinyl pressing of their first album. I remember buying it, even before it was released in the US. I was very lucky to get my hands in the imported record, early on. I still have that very record, and I treat it with loving care. It's certainly not the only Swing Out Sister vinyl I own, but it was my first. So long overdue, is a boxed set retrospective of their career. The age of music in physical format is not quite over, and SOS fans, particularly, like physical media. Maybe 2022 is a year in which we will be given some new stuff to buy.
