Nicely done.. I did get the battery replaced and the “second hand was moving, but I didnt have a press to use for the back cover and couldn’t hand press back into place. I couldn’t get the case on, but checked the time, and the second hand stopped and the battery is still in. Not sure why it would have stopped working, even though I couldn’t get the back back on. I did not have any silicone grease for the gasket and the plastic liner is lined up with the notch for the stem.

You used metal tweezers to handle the battery which puts a short circuit across the battery. Not good.

That's the exact watch I've had sitting around for years with a dead battery. You made it look easy to get the back off. Do you have any pointers for getting the back off for the first time since new?

It's very difficult, I haven't been able to pry mine off with my tool.
@imnotabotrlyimnot
@imnotabotrlyimnot 5 лет назад
@@patriciamiller4330 I was able to get mine off somewhat easily once I found the best blade in my pocket knife. It was the blade that had the most substantial curve to the blade side. I wedged it between the wrist strap and cover, pretty much like he's doing in the vid, and it came off without much effort. The cover also snapped back in place easily also without special press he has, just lay it on the table and apply even pressure with both thumbs. Good luck with yours. Oh, and btw, it's a good idea to clean all the surfaces on the cover and watch that make the seal with the o-ring, they were quite dirty, used a q-tip and alcohol.

I've had a similar model for years and was only able to get the back off once by almost destroying a knife edge. I have to take it off again and it's on there just as tight as before. I think a flat blade screwdriver is needed at this point.

The back on mine is also very tough. Tried for a while with 3-4 different tools and nothing. Last ditch - I ordered a bezel removal tool (like a vice). If I do ever get it off, I'll file down a small spot so there's room to stick a tool under it next time.

How you replace the watch band for this watch? I have a similar model purchased in the mid nineties that needs a new band.

michael 1 : Yeah, the Cavalry I picked up in ‘04 was NOS that some place must have had a fire sale on so it was bought at a discount, but they’re probably all sold off by now and ppl are either using them, or they’re sitting in drawers with dead batteries. :( There’s actually a used one on fleabay right now, so you never know you might get lucky?

Excellent video, simple and informative. Ty. I love these watches! For a time, (political correctness aside) Marlboro had this model, a couple of Wenger models and other Swiss Army styles. Needless to say, I acquired every one they had, I think about 6-8 total. The watches were simple in design, looked and worked great. I’m going to check out your FB page.

My Swiss Army Calvary watch only lasted about 8 years before it broke. I thought it would last longer. Anyway it's not 100% a Swiss made watch.

Same here. I tried sharpening the edge of my case tool but it just chipped. I ordered a bezel removal tool which looks like it also works for snap backs. It looks like a vice with 2 sharp wedges attached at each jaw. 🤞

Exactly my problem, good grief, it's a $25 watch. I had to take it to a jewelry store. Wait until you try to get the case back on the watch. Impossible. Never buy this brand again.

This is why I'll NEVER buy another Swiss Army watch. I have the exact same watch with a detached lumen. I'll have to take my $25 watch to the jewelers to get the back case on. I cracked up when I saw that that you had use a watch press for this $25 watch.

It looks like the distance between the lugs is 14mm. Am I wrong? I’m having trouble finding a watch band in 14mm at the lugs. Most are in the ballpark of 20mm.
