Good Video, well done. When i'm so close to the content of other youtube creators, i always reveal the source of inspiration. like so I create friends. You made nothing wrong... this is only my personal mindset.
I have had my swiss army knife since i was in the scouts and have used it almost daily for about 50 years and never thought of tightening hooks with it. Just goes to show, theres always something new to learn, thanks, i have two though and the one with the cross headed screw driver on it has proved to be invaluable over the years.
The Victorinox video for people who are illiterate, speak only foreign language(s), or hate explanation, narration, brevity and music. The extended limb cutter tip was one of the best survival hacks I've seen in years. I would have secured it better wlong the body of the knife, but it seemed to work splendidly as shown.
I have the Handyman which I have used many times, but never for preparing food - until now :) One of the best new designs of cheese grater actually came from a cook using one of her husband´s wood shavers, so it makes sense. Cheers!
Survival kettle - Thanks for the video and the good tips. I would only use the awl for sewing in case of emergency. It makes oversized holes that are more inclined to tear and fray. I liked how you rigged the saw for tree trimming, but it seems you could have lashed it on a lot more securely. There's no need to void your warranty filing your knife. The inner edge of the can opener will scrape a spark off a fire steel nicely. Here's a tip, use the awl/reamer or the can opener to open letters and packages, so the blade stays sharp for real cutting.
I consider the Huntsham to be about the best (and affordable) all rounder, and I have a rough scale version in my camping cook kit and in my kitchen draw. The dull red, rough scales help when the knife is wet, and I prefer them to the bright, smooth scales. Your tips were excellent, and in the 47 years that I've carried a Swiss Champ I'd not known about the extended saw technique, nor about the hook tool spoke key (although the hook tool didn't appear on the original model, it was a later upgrade inclusion. Subscribed.
I noticed that official difference in price between camper and huntsman is ~10$, but in Ukraine the difference is about 18$, so it is under the question if it worth that you gonna have a benefit of scissors for 18$, hence camper is a more decent choise in equation price\functionality in my country :( Do you agree?
@@audimashina4561 The scissors have been an invaluable addition, and I would consider them an asset, especially as they are of such high quality. The application to which scissors can be put to are limited by imagination only, and to have them can only be beneficial.
Enjoy! They’re awesome. First time I ever saw one was my grandads. Just got my first non knock off, more than two tiers, Swiss Army knife. Huntsman oooo yeah
man, the music just fit right in haha, very dramatic~ great tips tho, thanks! I have the huntsman for so long and never thought the saw can be used in such ways!
Got one of these as my first also when I was about seven. Loved messing around in the woods with it cutting branches in half lol. I remember I sliced my finger open with the saw. Such a great knife and nostalgic to me
This one seems the most helpful! Mine doesnt even have that knife which is used for many things shown in the vid; the one shown for cutting the fish, the branch, the chocolate etc.... And mine doesnt have a needle neither, it seems the time has come for me to get an updated one 😸 Greetings from Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic!
The one that doesn’t have the saw and much of the stuff is the 1950s version and is a really nice touch considering their manufacturing and sale at least here has been stopped for a while for the more bulky one. The smaller one is really nice and is a far better design in my opinion due to it compactness
The spine of the saw is already sharp, no need to file it. But if it's worn down, NEVER clamp it directly into a steel vise, use plastic or wood as a cushion - the saw blade is ground at an angle towards the spine, so the teeth are the widest part. If clamped into a steel vise, the teeth will bend inwards and make sawing hard because it sticks to the sides. BTW: Don't make granny-knots, learn the reef-knot, please !
Well, despite what your ‘friend’ Doug Sholly thinks, just to think I could eat carrot râpé having forgotten to pack my Moulinex food processor is great! And to put some grated Parmesan or pecorino on the pasta too boot. I like the ideas. I have had a Victorinox with saw tool which had until recently, never been used. Seriously. Thanks for a good video.
First Time that i See some one else using the Bottle opener to Strike a Ferro Rod... But i did what all woodworkers do with there card scrapers, with a polished honing rod to get a real Edge on it. If you try that im Sure you dont Stop there.. and refine more edges with that method... Like the Back of the SAW and your Mora (im Sure you have one, right? ;-) Greatz from Germany and have a nice Day opo
Just found 2 Victorinox Super Tinkerers I forgot I had. Got them cleaned up, resharpening the blades. Good as new, except need to replace the handle scales...
Those are nice tools that is on that particular knife and I have to look for one at the local Wal-Mart since they have most of the tools needed and sold by various companies.
see what the models are, they have different tools, maybe a different model will suit you better. I personally like scissors very much, they are perfect, although I did not show them in the film because I had no idea for any other use.
