So, I included this watch, sight unseen, in a Top 5 vid about a year ago. I wasn't wrong. Phew! It is a great watch for the cash. Not all that amazing for guys with smaller wrists though, so do bear that in mind, and I would probably pay the extra fiver for the rubber strap. But all in all, a real surprise. It's easy to fix. You just have to know how to remove a movement from the case; the hands are friction fit and can be gently adjusted.

For having the 'swiss made' lettering. That seconds hand missing its mark completely would drive me bananas! In saying that, it wouldn't put me off this to purchase it and see if it would be possible to fix that seconds hand myself. Love this vid. So glad the second upload worked. I thought the first upload was due to my service provider....they were nearly getting a nasty email filled with capitals and exclamation marks! Brilliant find, keep up the good work!

That lack of second hand alignment... I mean, kind of understandable at the price point, but the Casio Duro proves it's still not unreasonable to ask for that bit of quality control.

I’ve had this watch for about 6 months now and yes, for about $40 it’s a great pick up. The only issue I have is that it does wear bigger than 41mm because of the almost 50mm lug to lug and the lack of curvature to the lugs. It sits kinda flat on my wrist but overall you can’t beat it for the price.

I noticed that straight away also, my Timex Expedition I bought for £40 (one of very few Quartz I wear) hits the marker bang on :) nice watch otherwise.

Somewhere around fifteen years or so ago, I ordered a Wenger from a discount catalog. It was nice, but one day I noticed the bezel had fallen off. I sent the watch to Wenger for repair. Some weeks later I received the unrepaired watch from Swiss Army. I called Wenger and they said the watch was not theirs, despite the name on the dial. They sent it to Swiss Army. I called SA, and they said it was not their watch. I tossed it. Apparently the catalog sent me an unauthorized copy of a Wenger. Oh well.

At last a review of this watch! I’ve had mine for 3 years, the black dial version which came on a flooded links SS bracelet, which most watch fans would apparently hate. I thought it was ok but in any case it broke after about 2 years and now I have it on a black strap with red stitching that goes well with the second hand. Aside from that it’s such a trusty watch that in my opinion looks great. It was my first foray into analog watches, instead of g-shocks. Actually I’m a field biologist who gets things wet and bashes them a lot in my work so the Wenger has been ideal as something that looks a bit classier / retro than a digi! Thinking of upgrading to something a bit more interesting looking that can still take a beating and get wet...watching your excellent reviews for inspiration!

Keep hunting people. I found mine at TJ Maxx (US discount store) as another commenter. Mine has black dial, less lume, but the second hand hits all the marks spot on! Mine also has brushed and polished finishes and a better fabric strap. All for $45 usd.

Thank you for the nice review on Wenger. I have one in my collection (Wenger Urban Vintage Chrono 01.1043.113) which is very delightful to behold and wear. I bought it in 2019 from Amazon. For this price point, the finishing is very good.

That Swiss Wenger outlasted my Swiss Army Victorinox. I have had the Wenger just like that for 22 years now & the Victorinox for 20 years & I had to change the movement on my Victorinox

Another top class review. I have always had a hankering for a Wenger - Swiss Army heritage that does it - and this would have been a definite. Sadly, I just checked Amazon UK where the same watch is on sale for only................... £78. That means that for those who can buy this in Aussie dollars it equates to twenty quid. What we call a no-brainer. I am at a loss as to why a similar price could not be offered in the UK given Amazon's borderless approach to trade. For those lucky enough this is the bargain of the year. Another good review but as others have mentioned the second hand not lining up is surely a bigger issue than the strap and sharpish lugs.

I just got one here in the UK. £60, transport + import tax added to the price but still a great deal. Love it. For those with small wrists, the strap is rather long. I've got 17cm wrists and on the first hole it's still a bit loose. Might change it for another strap or NATO.

OMG!!! Bought this watch 3 months ago and it has been an incredible watch and the price unbeatable...so much watch for so little money$$$ 3 guys that I work with on the farm liked mine so much they all bought one. Sadly the leather bands that come with most watches don't fit my Big wrist, but put it on a NATO strap and all was fine. I have ordered a red silicon Barton for it...thought it might make it look a little like a Swiss army knife 😁 Great watch - Great review.

I got the WENGER SQUADRON GMT (42mm, all stainless steel, sapphire crystal, 100m, unidirectional 120 click bezel) for $65USD one year ago and I love that watch... Its a quartz but for an every day beater I don´t mind....

I have the "Attitude Outdoor" with a metal bracelet, purchased in 2020 for 65 dollars. Same watch with the day/date was 130 everywhere else. But with the date only, 65. So... that was an easy choice. So far I like it, stainless, Ronda movement and "sapphire coated mineral" lens. Ive always wondered what the hell that means and if its a gimmick or not. The box it came in is nice, with a little pillow. I use it for one of my expensive watches in the safe.

Simple solution is to work out the cost in pounds using a currency converter and email Amazon about the price. They will automatically reply with 'taxes blah blah blah...' you then hit them with 'checked with HMRC, and even with import duty it does not double the price'.

The original "leather" strap broke on my Wenger so I replaced with the black NATO I had laying around for a long time. It looks good but prefer my Seiko for the lume and bezel

Watches I feel are one of the few things you can really find quality craftsmanship today and also maybe family history or other types of history and nostalgia. I remember years ago my father-in-law work for Hamilton Watch in Lancaster Pennsylvania and he would make watches for them and he also would work on other things that were classified for the military that's another story and I remember back then when you got to a certain place in life it was common to get a watch that was commemorative for whatever the moment.

Hey Jody, this review of yours sent me to Amazon searching and I actually just received in the mail today, my new Wenger Attitude Day/Date. Similar price point. At $62 And I was planning on using it as a work beater and I just can’t bring myself to do it! I mean for $60 bucks you get “Swiss Made”, a beautiful sunburst effect on the black dial, sapphire coating, great lume, day/date complication, and actually on my watch the second hand is dead on the indices. I am smitten with the great little bargain watch! I may have to buy a second one for work. Anyway thanks for the channel and for the direction in ideas 💡👍🏻 Cheers 🍻

I just wish that they have a 36mm version of this in nato strap because for me, I only wear 40mm size for diver's watch .. the only big mistake is the big size of the watch that is not a diver's watch... only larger person will wear it & there are plenty or watch for big wrist so they have many rivals on that size.. if I were the designer of a watch I always go for vintage sizing from 38mm down to 35mm & 32mm down to 28mm for ladies.. that size of watches has so few rivals on watch industries when it comes to size.. 40mm is stupidity because there are so many 40mm watches to choose from different brands of watches.. but 38mm down to 35mm is now becoming popular size even for a big size wrists to smaller wrists..

It's unfortunate that these are already unavailable on your store. For some reason in Canada these are also wayyy more expensive. Around 150 bucks, that conversion doesn't stack up at all.

2020 update, on USA Amazon the only 100 meter Wengers I am finding start at $77. But still a good value. I am looking at the Casio Dura that is still $46. If it is going to be a quartz then I don't care if it Swiss or not. And the Dura is 200 meter.

Hallo Jody, what a nice Swiss surprise! I does look quite decent for the pricepoint . The only thing i noticed right away, the seconds hand is all over de dial, not on the markers. That would irritate the .... out of me. Any idea on the movement? Nice that you picked a cheaper watch for review. Always very happy with that.

I have this same watch. For some reason the second hand will sporadically get "stuck" where it moves back and forth in one spot and the minute hand no longer advances. Works again once I reset the time. This happens about every third time I wear it....very frustrating. Thought it needed a battery replacement but that didn't help.

Have you ever considered looking at Marloe watch company offerings? They are a Perth based (Scotland, Perth) and seem to have an almost cult following. I’m considering one of their mechanical watches myself, but the reviews are in short supply.

I work in a hospital so my watches get bashed very badly. Moving patients , X-ray equipment and constant hand washing. My old Timex Ironman looks like a dog chewed it. Watches at this price point are all I wear to work for that reason. Of course , once I get home I switch them out for something nice , but a Wenger like this is perfect for work. 👍

Have a look at a Lorus Sports - meets your requirements and with Lumibrite it is brilliant. Had mine for about 8-9 years and it is a beauty. It will take any type of strap / bracelet: Lorus Lumibrite Military Watch - RXF41AX7 NEW £34 in UK.

quartz watch where the needle doesnt hit the chapters and is swiss made too? nah something is wrong there. can't buy one which is defective even if it is so called swiss made. the whole point of swiss made is that it should have quality be it automatic or quartz. such a shame... maybe have a casio or timex in that range

Looks like a great value, but I wish Wenger (and Victorinox, for that matter) would stop highlighting their connection to Swiss army knives. Frankly, if I'm buying a Swiss watch, I want it to be from a watch company, not a pocketknife/luggage company that got into watches as a sideline because, hey, that’s another thing Switzerland is known for. It would be a little like wanting to buy a French wine, so getting one from the winemaking subsidiary of Airbus.

For $40, it's a good buy. At $100-$200, it's not worth buying. Low end Swiss made watches just don't make sense to me. Likely the only part in them that is Swiss is the Ronda quartz movement which can't cost more than $10. A made in China watch assembled with decent parts and a Japanese quartz movement is just as good.

Hello! Love your reviews.. I recently picked up that Longines-inspired Cadisen with Sapphire, Miyota Automatic movement on a Flash sale for $38! Received it yesterday and I am impressed.. many thanks. I realize that not all will be winners.. but this is a wonderful hobby.. practical as well.
