Great advice, which I hope to practice, letting the non-dominant hand do all the work. Many thanks for focussing on that main point and giving a clear explanation, on keeping the non-dominant hand loose.
I am a player that successfully switched from one handed to two. It’s going great now 👍🏼 takes a while to get the muscle memory and motion natural. Took me from Jan to now..so about 5 months. Still improving 💪🏼
Great video 👍 . . .i'hv been playing for 43 yrs now . . . i'd strongly suggest to the1's looking to switch is to improve or ace their game in other aspects than switching over to 2hb that'll help u overcome the problem and improve confidence also.
Interesting approach to grip. Often told go with continental grip on right hand but makes sense to go eastern forehand with right snd eastern with left. Trying this tomorrow. I’m a single backhand but want more consistency and ability to direct the ball cross court short.
a one hander here that tried to switch multiple times for consistency reasons too, but my footwork was not there. I ended up reinforcing other areas of my game to make the one hander work for me. I think that in the life of a player this dilemma always shows up but best to choose fast and go for your overall game style.
I'm 47.. struggling with updating my OHB with more topspin, power and variety. however, I would never go through the ordeal of switching at this age. best to grind it out and adjust rather than reset.
Imho and I’m not a coach and max 4,5 ntrp I’d insist that it’s big big mistake to regard the 2hbh as the left arm FH Still puzzling how good your studen handles 2Hbh I’m curious if he just doesn’t follow you and hits with the two hands 😂💪🏿 What I think is the right approach
Left hand doing all the work? Andre Agassi and David Nalbandian both say that it’s mostly the bottom hand hitting the ball and that’s where the power comes from. Top hand is to help guide and control. Agassi said in his Udemy that his is like a 1H and he imagines smacking the ball with the back of his right hand.
Yes, your right hand is the dominant hand, after contact point left hand should take over. Telling the player to have left hand doing all the work helps with this 👊
