Wow. This was by far the most detailed and most comprehensible backhand lesson I've ever seen. It is this level of detail that is needed for me to understand what I'm supposed to be doing. Thank you!!
Hi there from 46 year old player . Playing ,getting lessons and following online information about 30 years now . Newer posted a comment in my life till now . You are special. Enough said. Sincere thank you
My first reaction is "why is this video 15 mins long when the channel is called 2-minute tennis?" But when I watched the video, I am like holy crap, this is best "... fix" video I have seen for tennis. It's exactly on point for why people (me) cannot hit a proper top spin for a long time. I watched almost every single "how to hit top spin" tennis video on youtube and none talks about the reason why I did everything all the others videos taught and yet the balls still flies out of bound when I go for a full power swing. I had to record myself in slow motion many times to figure out why even though my form looked perfect, and yet my racket face OPEN every time I make contact with the ball! Good job man! I am adding this video to my recommended tennis instruction playlist
Wow what a comment. It feels great knowing that the video helped you understand how to swing up and get topspin. I’ve noticed that online coaches never talk about closing the racket face but it’s absolutely essential to getting topspin. So it’s some thing I stress often because I know it’s a small but very important piece of informationThat will make all the difference in the world. Thanks again
Thank you as you said we must watch it over and over and listen to your “amazing explanations” over and over. You are just so enthusiastic coach Great great
I've literally watched dozens of lessons on how to hit a 2 handed backhand, and this was by far the best! (Would also like to see an addition of your actually hitting a few.) Thanks! Dave
Keep them coming Coach ! in 2 month of starting tennis i've change from very terrible to okay just by watching your videos especially the servers! Thank you so much!
excellent tips... esp where the left hand's palm ensures that the racquet face points down about 45 degres on the back swing. Excellent! The best instructions beginning to end for 2 handed I've experienced ini 35 years of playing. I will use these tips for my playing as well as teaching others : )
Also the tip to keep the elbows out in the ready position and then also being aware of the 90 degrees space after the follow through instead of the left elbow creating an acute angle. Great insights.
Huge, huge thank you for this video! I was attempting to rebuild my backhand from the ground up, with good success I got very far but sometimes it just didn’t wanted to work, you helped me to fix all the details, now it feels great and easy! Thanx!
ohh my gosh .. are you kidding me ? this is the all time best lesson ever !! so loved it, I have been struggling with my back hand technique and you made it soo easy .. can't wait to try it in my next game
You have helped me so much with my forehand with the "wave to your opponent" drill. Tennis pro at club said I was really ripping the ball. Sadly I have taken so many lessons from tennis pros and no one has ever talked about core rotation.
Thanks Im watching only your videos. They are amazing. Started building up my tennis technique from ground using your videos. Thanks for your time and clear explanations.
Coach, thank you very much, I wasn't making the grip change, now I see the difference, anxious getting to the court to practice. I'll tell you later how it went.👍
Be advised that that string down concept like on @15.55 is style/coach/player individual thing. There are other ways to bring racket to the contact with proper angle from perpendicular to the ground position on the take back. Good thing that tennis allows so many variations
Hi there, you may not read this but I just wanna show my appreciation for this video. I started picking up tennis a few weeks ago and played almost everyday. My backhand got better but it was never consistent and other videos did not really fix my backhand problems. This video literally cracked the code of the backhand issues for me and I was able to apply it today for the first time and now I know how the backhand stroke is truly done. Thank you so much for this video, I can’t say enough.
I read all the comments. Thank you so much. I’m so glad this video ImproveYour Backhand and it’s making you feel more confident. Thank you for taking time out of your day to write this message to me. It means the world to me. Have a great weekend. 😊
The takeaway position you describe and demonstrate, with arms and elbows up and away from the body, is exactly how many left handed batters stand ready for the next pitch. Being a left handed batter and throw right player with a one handed slice by I might give this a try!
you have some good tennis courts wherever you are sir! also I'm a newbie to tennis and I've watched most of your vids and these are really helpful! thank you
Great video , great explanation...best in the youtube i found....i had great performance on my two handed backhand...thanks so much. Hello from Italy.Ciao
