Electrification of vehicles is now a common transition in the world of automobiles, and Switch has introduced two new additions to its electric range - the IeV 3 and IeV 4. These fall into the category of light commercial vehicles and are designed to address medium and last-mile connectivity for goods. But do they do enough for the transport companies to invest in them? Do they actually make financial sense? And what do they bring on the table as opposed to their ICE counterparts? We go to the Ashok Leyland testing centre to answer all these questions for you. Not at all. And also stop making or promoting useless videos of EVs. I am the transporters, owning more than 100 trucks, and I am very well known that no other fuel can replace diesel. Even LNG failed. The best alternative can be a Biodiesel, but our current ruthless stooge NDA government abandoned it. Just to be loyal to their global elites masters. And this is a huge loss for all our bhartiya.

@@narut0o9929 Since the 10-80% charge can be done in under an hour, the company claims that short charging bursts can be done at their stops during loading and unloading. And that even regular 16A and 32A plug points can charge the vehicles

@@evoIndia not possible in practicality it's impossible to charge while losing or unloading atleast for individual fleet owner but for company like big basket etc may be and it's taken more then 200 km for big cities to covers in a day and short burst charge when we have a load on the back the coustomer won't give a time to have a lunch properly it's about charging not at all possible to find and charge ( IN short EV ARE NOT MEANT FOR COMMERCIAL VEHICLE )

But taking a stop for an hour for charging after 75-80 km for a commercial vehicle? The EV tech really needs to change to battery swapping.

The range is fine for delivery trucks. They don't travel more than 50km a day and mostly stuck in city traffic. A lot of these mini trucks are used to deliver drinking water & fast food they don't travel many km and can be plugged in while loading or unloading goods .

@@KuntalGhosh the 140km is a claimed range, so expect only 70-75km in real life. And I know many LCV drivers whose daily drive is ~100km+. Even if we consider 50km as daily run that means every night they need to charge the vehicle which will definitely cost the battery life.

At this price point fast charging, better seats, stereo and AC should be standard. Wires are all over the place lacking execution.

I don't think there is a use case in India for this. Claimed range is so low and there is no charging Infra. Commercial vehicles are meant to be driven for long range.

there are 5500+ fast and 2500+ slow chargers as such all EVs will be sold with a charger too so in addition to public charging, it can be charged at destination or home or loading depot

It would be interesting to know how the powertrain noise affects driver comfort. The commercial vehicles powered by ICEs I feel sound harsh sometimes. Combine that with gear changes and I feel the ICE powered vehicles require more attention from the driver. How does an electric powertrain feel in comparison, is it more comfortable for the driver? A comparison on this aspect would be interesting. The people who drive these vehicles for durability testing can also give a feedback as they would be driving the vehicles with different powertrains.

Yes, being an EV there is no engine clatter, making it extremely quiet. But as you may be able to hear in the video too, there are squeaks that filter through in the cabin from some components. It is definitely more comfortable for the driver as there is lesser input required with gear changes, though they will have to get used to regenerative braking. Durability testing is something we will know only in real life case scenarios over a period of time.

Nice review, but you haven't explained about charging ports about these vehicles, Whether they are chargeable at home or not.

We mentioned that you can use a 16A or 32A charger. You can use the socket at home.

It is lesser than the diesel counterparts. Generally in CVs they save cost of production by avoiding the covers
