Yeah and my thing is there’s smaller RU-vidr creators who have been pivoting and growing their channel during this time due to making videos their viewers are interested in. Instead of just just trying to appeal to everyone. He keeps using BeatemUps as the gold standard but chasing trends is not sustainable to keeping a healthy channel.
Bob Wulff & RGT85 does it best. They cover all aspects of gaming so they are able to make videos on anything gaming related, not just forced to cover one topic.

Part of being a RU-vidr is finding new topics to discuss. There's plenty of other RU-vidrs who are successful presenting Nintendo related content. You've just gotta keep grinding and innovating! Keep it up man :)
This inspired me to make a video on this topic as well! I feel like theirs also more to be addressed in this aspect too. But I am very happy for you Max! Honestly to me your channel growth has been inspiring and still keeps me in line to keep going on the platform!
This is why alot of creators have said in the past to broaden their channels beyond one product. Pivoting to Nintendo or coming up with new ideas like “history of Nintendo” going through the decades with each console and such” there’s plenty to do to broaden your brand. Thing is BeatemUps just goes for what’s trending it’s a poor way to keep sustainability. You gotta figure your own path.
This video is being made by quite a few RU-vidrs that cover Nintendo so I’m not sure where u got the idea that no one’s talking about this subject. It was spoken about quite a bit last year also but beatemups and rgt85 bought up this topic prominently this week. It’s to be expected that as a console reaches its final years interest will start to diminish and unfortunately that then reflects in the views of content based on that particular console. This is only significant now as social media consumption is at its peak and open to the whole world so people can view many videos everyday if they so choose on there preferred hobbies/interest, where as in previous console generations that was not the case. Although I’ve seen many videos cover this topic over the last year it’s a shame that some people are losing their job over this but as Rgt said I hope they find something quickly and in the field the love. Next year the buzz will be alight again so there’s definitely a brighter day coming soon.
I will say I did film this video on Wednesday before anyone talked about this.. I just only upload on Tuesday/Friday. Probably should’ve dropped this video yesterday.
Those glasses are dope. First half of this year didn't have a ton of first party hype. I played a ton of Unicorn Overlord and got caught up on my backlog a bit. Still enjoying what news has been out there.

You can make whatever you want im pretty sure ppl subscribe because they like your character mostly the things you cover are just the way some ppl will find you i came to learn about cool switch stuff but that isnt why i subbed and 99% sure why your subs are going to love to see you switch it up how ever you want, dont know until you try!
I have a feeling that a lot of RU-vid creators build ... generic stuff. All of these hidden gems etc. - 99 % of RU-vidrs copy from each other. It's weird, especially when it comes to Nintendo Switch, because this is literally first handheld that has absolutely MASSIVE list of games. You can easily find great, super cheap digital, unkown ie. platform games or any kind of games. You just need to ... play a lot. I have a feeling that majority of RU-vidrs who create such lists ... don't play computer / console games. They just copy / blend 2-3 different lists, from different RU-vidrs. I always like your videos because you seem to really play games, you seem to know the games, you come up with your own titles etc. To be honest, I prefer "micro" RU-vidrs because they're much more hmm real. I know that it may be not great for them, in terms of earning money, having sponsors etc. but when I see ie. RU-vidrs like mkbhd I see just ... safe, generic videos. AI could create such videos. Yes, there are too many RU-vidrs - that's true. There are too many Switch RU-vidrs as well as retro handheld youTubers etc. (2 years ago there was only ie. Retro Game Corps) but that's how world looks like now :( There are too many games, too many movies / tv series, too much music, too many books. In order to consume everything you would need to live for like 300 years :D If you would STOP everything, people still could spend YEARS consuming such content.
Here's a few survival tips for the wait. -Collectors related contents videos (our boy @MonadoMax got it covered) -Sales miss and avoid videos. There will be sales going until switch 2 and on... always too many games on sales. And weekly videos with content to avoid or do not miss among those games is always welcome for players waiting for switch 2
Keep up the great work! Every real life industry/jobs goes thru ups and down. Just is what it is. Keep on keeping on!! Monday morning comes and I'll just get up, get ready, and go to my old regular job. But during the weekend, I'll ENJOY my regular Nintendo Switch, I love it, will always love it, and as far as it goes it is perfect just the way it is. I have personally not watched one single video about switch 2, overrated and overhyped fake news... I'll believe until there is a Switch 2 on my hands.
Feels like just youtube in general is slowly dying. More people moving to tiktok, instagram, wherever instead of watching youtube. I blame it all on tiktok brainrotting people and ruining attention spans.
just play other stuff aside from switch games. We literally have Astro Bot coming out soon and a ton of great games this year like infinite wealth or penny's big breakaway
Switch RU-vidrs have it pretty rough in general. If you have a Switch OLED you likely have decent software to capture and create content, but if you have a modest Switch Lite you literally have to string '30 round burst clips' together to make a janky video, LMAO. I wonder how next gen Nintendo content will vary when you can record longer clips, or even live stream "legitimately" (I'm sure there's something in the 'Terms of Use' agreement during the Switch setup / activation that nobody reads... jokes). Not a Joke: during MonadoMax's next gen Nintendo console unboxing video he must read the User Agreement at the end :)
I wouldn't aspire to be like BeatemUps. He sucks and he's boring. Just be yourself and make stuff you think is fun regardless whether it's trending or not. I do enjoy your store pickups and convention vlogs.
Switch right now is really bland and max is pretty spot on, nobody cares about the remasters, games haven't been good at all really for the switch this year so far
Both the thumbnail and title of the video are Clickbait. GameXPlain is not shutting down and neither is their channel disappearing however, there was a couple of staff layoffs.
No… the title/thumbnail was not clickbait at all.. I explained that creating content as a whole for Nintendo Switch is dying which the two creators in the thumbnail explain. I can tell you didn’t even watch the video because we don’t say the words “shutting down”
@@MonadoMax well I’m sure that GX will put out a bunch of stuff regarding the Switch 2 and even if the Current Switch is losing momentum, then why are people such as myself getting excited for new party titles??
