I was talking to a US based hedge fund manager not so long ago, and he asked the question "CFDs? How are they even legal?" After trading forex through brokers for a number of years, this one conversation convinced me that Futures are the way forward. Your introduction video has helped fill the gaps I had in my knowledge.

there is no comparison between fx and futures , both ve their own advantages and disadvantages. like in futures - mostly volume come in usa session and you have very less chance to get good swing trades. only for scalping , u can play but accuracy in scalping is not for everyone . on the other hand , fx , you can play swing days trading (esp for those who are in some jobs etc.) all the best
I quit CFDs because in my country. The CFDs are so called "Other" derivatives. And what that basically means is that every win is taxable. But every loss and you won't get any relief. In conclusion = If you win in cfd but then at one point lose everything then you will also need to pay taxes even though lost everything. I'm switching to futures just because of this. In futures they have set so if you take losses they can be made so that that even though you win and lose everything, you won't have to then pay anything because the loss was greater than the win + it will add up to the tax report so that next time I win I won't have to pay taxes for the once I lost. Sorry I wrote this in a weird way but I hope people get it.

If you use AMP for futures trading... you'll likely need to pay $13/month for live CME/CBOT data (this is done through the AMP portal). Also note... margin requirements ($$$) to carry futures contracts overnight are significantly higher than the margin requirements for day trading.
i recently changed from forex to futures and i can happily say futures are 100x better then FX, no manipulation, full transparency with futures and way more regulated
Great information! You broke it down so simple especially since I’m looking to transition out from Forex. Quick question, can you trade major and minor pairs as well like GBPUSD, AUDUSD, etc or can you only trade indices and commodities when trading futures?
Thank you 🙏 There are currency futures you can trade as well which move basically the same as FX pairs. For example GBP/USD futures equivalent is known as “6B”
The reality is most people aren't fundamentally sound, mentally tough or disciplined to trade any market. I know many who went to futures and are still not Profitable. Each market has its advantages and disadvantages. The key is to Focus on the one you like and master it. If not you will never become a consistently profitable trader.

@@Rico401Prov I had the exact same issue and the very reason I am here. I need to transition to Futures because it seems as if the Forex market is under attack. From what this video shows, the futures and the forex market is exactly the same. The key differences seem to be contracts vs. lot sizes, ticks vs. pips, paying $5 for market data, Front month, the difference in taking partials, and swap fees as oppose to contract fee. I recently became profitable in Forex and already see the need to transition. Although my preference is metals, oils and indices- forex pairs is how I learned price action. I see from this video that they are (essentially) exactly the same thing. The difference is simply the terminology used within the different markets.

There are not SL & TP tabs showing up in trading view through tradovate (topstep) when you place order at market order. It does show if you create new order. Is there a fix for it so that SL & TP buttons should show up even if market order is placed? Thanks

The more I think about it, the more I want to do this. How much money is the minimum amount you would say you need to start with that brokerage to still have a little wiggle room?
I noticed also in CFD execution always price slippage than the price in the chart even if you are in the slowest session you will see that price not executed as you requested but in the worest price

When you set the market order you were able to drag TP and SL to where you wanted them. On mine I don't have a TP or SL button to drag, just an option to reverse trade. Why would that be?

If I was just starting I would use the ninjatrader broker! I also use thinkorswim but mainly for the charts because they’re more accurate than ninjatrader but overall I love the platform to place my trades and ninjatrader also has the lowest Margin fees so you could trade big contracts like the NQ or ES with only $500 in your account instead of like $6000. I would just try it if I was you they have a trial
