I was running CFD gold and future gold in parallel on approx. 150 trades. And the gold future was far more profitable. The reason are all this mini fakeouts (Broker spread widening initiated). That make a huge difference on the 15 min chart, either it just pushes your trade into your SL or it traps you in a failing trade. Future is for me far superior.
holy crap! i'm doing that right now [on silver] and I'm like wow! the forex charts are just wicking in the opposite direction of my analysis at the point where I would've entered before finally going in my direction... and the Futures charts have no BS wicks going against me...they just go exactly as they should. I've lost a TON of trades when these forex charts hit my SL before going my way. i'm fvkin switchin! that. is. it.
Im doing both too doing analysis based on future and place trade on cfd… there are brokers with very tight spread even less than future, however, the high commission in cfd will get you into big negative once you place the trade.
After trading futures for over a month, I still have no plans on returning to Forex; however, if you're going with a futures prop firm, you're trading a simulated account which is no different than the CFD's. No, they do not take you live because they're not regulated so they can't. The most they can do is go live themselves and copy the trade of a profitable trader. The RU-vid influencers do get paid to promote, no different than forex. It's a pyramid. Not saying you can't make money, but I would suggest keeping your units very low and be very strict about your SL.
Okay, you made your point. But I would like to point out some benefits of CFD-Trading: 1. With a Future, you have a Mini and Micro Future. The Mini is on the ES 50 USD each Point and the Mini is 5 USD. And with CFD the minimum Lot Size is 0,01. So each Point you risk 1ct. It might be comfortable to start with CFDs because of this. 2. One big problem for me is, that you can't close a special position. The earliest Position will always be closed. Let's say, you buy 1 Lot at 100. Than the market move to 60 and you decide to buy another 1 Lot. Now the Market moves to 90. If you now close your position, you close the first one. So you lose -10 and have unrealized +30. In CFD you can just close the winning position. The positions are independent. 3. In the Futures Market you can't hedge. You can't open counter positions and close them independently of each other. This is why I consider start trading CFDs again. (And the point, that I still have about 15k on the account of one broker).
CFD is not worth trading. The brokers set the rules there is a reason why most of these brokers are banned and most of them are offshore unregulated to scheme of the retail traders. When your trading your not directly into the market your trades go to their desk and they set your trades however it benefits them. Almost all forex traders that are big are in the business of broker/ prop firm etc
That's the only thing I really see an advantage to Trading CFDs at the moment. Started on this Prop World recently and the rules of the CFDs props are way better. Although they require larger % to pass, the inexistence of trailing SL and the higher total drawdown make up for it in my opinion.
@@andremangabeira682 also the advantage is being able to trade EU/GU, Gold etc. sometimes the PA is better on FX, sometimes it's better on Futures. nice being able to choose which asset to trade.
This is such a silly comment. If you are profitable you will have no problem with the monthly fee. This is why you use a practice account before using the real thing.
Great video. The key takeway is if you want to trade long-term, do the work and switch to a regulated broker. Take it seriously and do it the right way.
Can I take my forex technical skills and apply them futures? Like is relative the same. because I trade using smc and market structure. Due too all the regulation crap i want to go to futures so im asking
Cammy, have you done reviews of the futures brokers you have used? Maybe advice for someone new to futures, commissions, etc. I've watched your Topstepx videos but want to try a non prop firm broker. From the UK. Cheers mate.
Hey Cammy, great video, thanks for sharing your experience. I am trying to trade futures from UK any advise on recommendations please ? As I am struggling to find a broker/platform . TIA
so I’m curious, you don’t believe any of the trades get pass through the interbank market? You believe that direct market access forex brokers don’t exist? You don’t think most forex brokers use liquidity providers or do you think it’s all made up?
Most of FX market is under OTC it really doesn't matter if you are trading CFDS or futures or even forward contracts most likely the orders don't go to inter market unless you are trading directly at the big banks it really doesn't make eny difference.the counterparty will only hedge is risk when is overwhelmed .
what would be the commission on the GBP future for example, I'm a forex trader and I plan on going to Futures but I don't get the commission structures of futures
all cfd brokers are not created equal...and the us regulation is not about changing the diapers of us trader babies in the usa and trying to keep us warm and cozy...us regulation, australian regulation, canadian regulation is about their relationship with the central bank as creditor and channeling money flow and restricting money flow where they want to cap it...the super good cfd brokers are available: the direct market access brokers...very small spreads, no commission, etc and good leverage via prop firm accounts,
so I was right all the way from the beginning, in CFD trading your broker is your enemy...not the market, they know everything you do down to you touching your mouse...no wonder all my experiments did not make sense, making the all thing look like I was the only one in the world trading.
I just switched to futures and will be placing my first trsde tomorrow on futures. Been doing a practice account... With the stuff thats going on with forex its wild not to mention the spread...... Where has futures been and why didnt i do this before
