For running an application, I prefer F4 to spotlight. Using the search box it only brings up applications rather than other search results. It also shows icons rather than just the application name which makes it easier to find what you want rather than just the name
Yes F4 is called Launchpad and I like that one too! I just find a lot of my time is spent with hands on keyboard and if I need to move my hand over to the mouse I get annoyed :) So I like all the keyboard-only options for opening apps. On your Mac when you do a Spotlight search if you are not getting other results that's a setting you can change under Apple menu -> System Settings -> Siri & Spotlight -> Look in the Search Results section to add more checkmarks.
of course, Dumbledore uses Mac. 🧙♂ - for real this was sooo helpful, switching for PC to mac mini for the first time ever and this helped cover a lot of the basics for me. Thanks!
Hello Lucas. I live in Montreal. Would you happen to know a place here that can give professional technical training on Mac computers, from basic to advanced stuff ?
I don't know of a place in Montreal but I do that exact training remotely all the time! I have a number of clients in Montreal. (My dad lives in the Gaspé so I pass through Mtl often). I'm not sure exactly what you mean by professional technical training but let's chat no-charge and see if I'm a fit to help you one on one! I charge 195 CAD per hour and will help you get through whatever you need to learn. Grab a time from my calendar if you like: calendly.com/lucasmacinhome/existing-30-min
