Adding the birds was a nice touch. Subtle but really enhanced the video. Great job. Nice camera angles too.

That B&O car needs a B/O tag and then spotted to the rips! The boxcar door slide is falling off..... ?

Nice video, love seeing ops. I also like the extra sounds like the birds. My only want would be a overall shot before you start the moves so that it's easy to tell how everything is layed out before the closer shots.

That's a great idea! I am planning on a more how to video which shows the waybills etc. So I'll keep that in mind.

awesome layout! and happy that you accepted my intended humor. curious to know why you’ve chosen this CNR era? I grew up on CNR wages. My father was a conductor, way freights especially.

Thanks for getting back to me! To be honest I didn't realize how bad of shape it was in until I was editing the video!🤣 But I didn't want to re-shoot the whole thing. The layout is based on Ian Wilson's book Steam Over Palmerston. The line I'm modeling is the Owen Sound Subdivision. Owen Sound is where I'm originally from. I've also just always loved the 50's and steam. The layout will feature more steam, I just dont have any sound equipped steam engines at home. To be honest I've never seen a photo of a GP9 in that area in that time frame, but it's all in good fun! Where bouts did your father work for CN?
@ljlariviere7885

Creative Rails Hi, I grew up in Jasper AB. It was/is a CN terminal, the end point of the Edson sub and the beginning of both the Albreda and Tete Jaune subs. I was a rail rat as a kid, always hanging out around or on the track. Got to go with my Dad on many a trip. My moms entire family worked for CN, Grampa was a machinist....my dad transferred to Vancouver Island in the early 70’s got to see and work on those subs too. My interest to create a model railroad is leaning towards doing a southern Vancouver Island, Victoria to Nanaimo area circa 1970’s before it was all abandoned. This would give me the opportunity to model both CN and CP(Esquimalt Nanaimo). A place to start maybe. Hoping to connect with others who are fellow foamers.

Hey I'm just wondering what tool do you use to attach the handrails of a model locomotive to the shell? I just bought an Atlas U33C and ripped of one of the front handrails.....
@CreativeRails
@CreativeRails 4 года назад
Hey thanks for watching! I think first of all we need to figure out how you're going to fix it. I run older Atlas locos and on mine the front handrails are all one piece. So you may want to contact Atlas and see if you can get a replacement. For tools it really depends again on how exactly your fixing it. For me doing handrails on my steam locos, it requires a couple pairs of small needle nose pliars for bending the handrail, and then a pin vise drill with a set of micro drill bits to drill out the frame to attach the stanchions. Hope this helps! If you give me some more info I could probably be more of a help. Thanks, Ben
