I do appreciate the leaving true nane nemesis in, as its one of my favorite cards tbh. Just the line "Protection from chosen player" Is such a baller line, its fun to see around. It has the same vibes as "all permanents gain indestructible" or "sacrafice all colored permanents"
I’ve been dreaming about putting Sword of Light and Shadow on frog. Like the protection from white and black basically makes frog unkillable. The life gain isn’t exactly nothing , and the return creature from grave to hand is kinda cute when you can discard the creature again to frog. TLDR: pro white pro black frog seems bonkers
I love to see this deck from your perspective now. I was watching my reanimator friend stream the league in Discord and the first round you guys played was great imo. I'm a stoneblade player myself and I really waited for this video to come just to see your list. The brainstorm into double swords double surgical really made me laugh out loud now that I saw it, but his read on psychic frog was great.
As someone who’s played it, it comes up clutch in a lot of matchups where they don’t have plows to kill your creatures. I especially love being able to bring back a Snapcaster on their turn, and recast a removal spell.
@@Crimmando I’m playing a Yorion version, and so I have both, but I’ve been contemplating taking out the Batterskull because it’s always the last thing I want to tutor for and usually just becomes Frog fodder when I draw it. So, if you’re playing a 60 card version then it’s definitely the one to swap.
I think dissection tools is just better then batterskull equipping it comes up way more and you have the upside of hitting psychic frog with the manifest
I don't like doing this because I am not even close as proficient as Brian, but could Wrath of the Skies taken out Urza's Saga M5G3 for just WW? I think it could have been cast there.
Yes, it does, but it also taps him out of white removal as well. Obviously, the decision looks bad in hindsight, but I think that's what Brian was going for.
How are the eldrazi decks not playing Null Elemental Blast in the board with all these frogs running around. Hits Nadu, and some other things too. Maybe they’re just good enough against them
Should eldrazi run flying creature removal in the sideboard to deal with frog? Dismember ain't cutting it. Only other thing i can think of is kenrith's transformation
*Sword of Fish and Frog:* {3} Artifact - Equipment Equipped creature gets +1 fish / +2 fish and has protection from splash and from croak. Whenever equipped creature deals combat damage to a player create a 1/1 red fish creature token and a 1/1 blue fish creature token then ribbit 3. Creatures you control with croak counters on them gain reach until your next turn. Equip {2}
Hey Brian, I’m active duty and it’s hard for me to make it to a lot of big events. Do you know if eternal weekend in Pennsylvania will allow proxies for eternal formats this year? Thank you.
It feels like something is missing to make this deck really good. I'm seeing a lot of buzz around Pre-War Formalwear. I don't see why it's as good as people are claiming, but it might be what the deck would need to go nuts. It feels like it's a little too slow for this format right now, though. StoneBlade decks have always been better at the grind, and I think it's too quick of a format for that right now. I really wish I had the tiem to sit and full theorycraft the meta destroyer that we all crave for both Modern and Legacy.
@fergusfisher1315 I am aware that it's not on MTGO, it's going to be on in a couple of weeks. I see the reason it can be good, it just feels clunky outside of SFM putting it in. I know Brian has been wanting to play with PWFW on MTGO for awhile now, and maybe seeing it in action will tell me why it's worth the slot
@@DarkestFiction yeah, I’m excited to see how it plays, I was on a bit of an mtg hiatus when fallout came out so I’m not familiar with most of the cards. An issue I can see with it is that so much of the efficient removal rn is exile based and not destroy.
@@BoshNRoll okay sure. I don't understand how it's slow tho. Single mana and turns your discards into a mana or 2/2 each turn. Unless you're thinking you need urzas saga to make it worth the slot
@@chillywings you can discard Archon of Cruelty and reanimate it for 1 mana with Frog. It's all relative. The deck might be fine, someone just has to build it.
eldrazi just looks unbeatable... seems like it beats bosh in every match. im sure this isnt what actually happens, but it sure feels that way. doesnt matter how many answers or threats you have, they always have more threats and a k command.
Anyone else hate the eldrazi decks? I just feel like there's no flavor... Big colorless poop monsters steamroll everything... It's annoying as a spectator
Eye of Ugin still banned in modern. They really should have unbanned it and evaluated it's meta position before dumping even more power into the tribe. But yes, lovectaftian monsters was one of the earliest flavor fails for this historically fantasy game. Now it seems inoffensive compared to universes beyond.
