In my playthrough, where I played in "Infinite Mode", Starbound had 6,5k Armor and nearly 8k HP - and that was after I weakened him 5 times in Observatories. Even with specially crafted Legendary Champion Armor (boosting Vitality, Attack, Defense and Strength) and Lionel's Spear, I was very afraid - Starbound is described as the hardest boss in all of SaS, and this is absolutely justified, seeing playthroughs of people failing against him. Even with Antares by my side, I wasn't confident enough. I was wondering if I should wear Antares's Armor (which I also enchanted to Legendary Grade; making it all together have around 2k more Armor than Champion Set), but I decided to save beforehand, and if I fail, I turn the game off and then back on. And about the battle... it was suprisingly easy. Like... very easy, in comparison to fights against likes of Yeti Project Redux (who once hit me for over 13 THOUSANDS OF DMG!), Belgrave Rhykier (135 Defense, who's brilliant idea was that?) or Antares (nearly 9k in HP amd Armor plus 145 Intelligence - the highest single stat I've encountered outside of Starbound Gladiators, I think, but I didn't know you can check stats during battle). Over half the turns Starbound Gladiator has spent stunned; in third phrase, he LITERALLY DIDN'T HAVE ANY TURN. I was destroying him! And thanks to "Ultimate Warrior" passive, my damage was ever-increasing. At first, I was dealing 1,5k to 2k with high-power skills like Ultra Smash or Whirlwind, but in phrases 2 and 3, that damage was doubled. And the final hit was a Power Attack in the head which dealt over 8 THOUSANDS DMG - more that he had HP. To believe that such hellish game (for me) would have final boss to be a complete pushover... maybe if I hadn't weakened him at all, he'd have been a much bigger challenge. Alas, that was not meant to be - i'll just have on my next playthrough to go to Observatories to face Automatons (or simply ignore them).
Try getting a freeze spell and a thunder spell. They should hit the target if you got enough attack. With freeze and shock you can easily win phase 2. Dont know about phase 3 and 1 though. Its hard to win with melee but its been done.
Okay I finally beat him as a fighter. I had a variety of spells yep + very good equipment, and ofc, luck! I got thru the first round w pretty much full armor meaning that I got to keep it w me in the second round. Also enetered the battle trance and got the hit chance massively increased, which helped a ton. I did use shock but not freeze. The shock was so he wouldn't cast Molten Death or for to bait out his human spirit spell. For second round I found using the command spell very useful. Other spells I used, I do not remember the name but one powerful strike that stuns, then another strike that stuns but less powerful, also Colossus and Little Fat kid. It was very rough though. I'd say it took me 30-40 tries total, of which ~10 were this session.
@@lee-fc5bu I played as a knight, I made sure my attack stats were always extremely high so I almost always had a 99% chance of hitting, I also invested a lot in defense (half the number of damage stats I think), as well as strength for more damage so my attacks were really useful, and stamina so I didn't get tired easily and could keep attacking, especially with my skills that require a lot of stamina. I don't care about intellect and charisma, but I had to invest a bit in agility because the ranged gladiators were a pain, they could run away and start attacking me again and again because I was too slow to get close to them and attack them. In general I was crushing all my enemies with this built, especially after I defeated two automatons and took their lightsabers (I ended up using the two-handed one and sacrificing my shield). But the final boss is simply impossible to beat, the best I can do is to finish phase 1.
