I love how every time Incin is played, the commentators react in shock at the common Incineroar characteristics (his counter speed, his back throw damage, etc) Really goes to show no one plays this character lol

I feel like Skyjay adapted really well. Game 1 he looked lost and kept throwing out dash attack and eating a ton of damage. But game 2 and game 3 he slowed down, took his time, and almost got comebacks on Marss. He just needs to maintain his composure a bit better imo and he will probably do even better next time!

I forgot how fast paced Marss’ playstyle is Jesus

Gross MU for Incineroar, plus Marss plays the cat for fun so he knows what Skyjay wants in many spots. Nonetheless, two legends serving up godlike gameplay.

This was hard to watch. ZSS just has almost zero endlag on all of her moves, so Skyjay never really had any opportunity to go on the offense at all. The only good punishes he really got were after a few whiffed grabs or questionable ledge options - the entire rest of the match was just pain

I don't get it. Why marss is still playing ? Didn't he get eliminated by shuton ? Why are they playing for ? But i'm happy to see some marss gameplay.

I feel like this set would be much closer today.

Funny thing, I've been playing a ton of Incin lately, and Marss' play actually got me interested in learning ZSS, so I started playing some of her as well. Yes, she's good, but I've been consistently surprised by how much end lag I have playing her vs how it feels playing against her. Lol Most people point to tiers, but skill and mental were big here. Sky definitely played rather carelessly, esp in neutral and on the ledge, fishing for too many counters and side B's that were ill advised or unsafe. They walked into too much free damage for Marss and ended up having to spend the whole match recovering to ledge as a result.

It was a bottom tier vs a bottom tier anyway. It was anybody's game.

If before the release of ultimate Nintendo said: "so we have a character. It's going to be trash overall but have nothing but cheese in the form of a command grab that kills at 30% and an up b that suicides and kills at 0. Should we keep it in the game?" I'd personally say no

Skyjay should have done more up B that landed on the stage by holding up to punish the charged down smash

Incineroar is such a flawed character and unless by practical reads will you net a win with the character

As an incineroar main, I would have stayed grounded more in defense and read with up smash against an air Combo zero suit
