I was on his stream the other day and someone asked if he’d ever go terry again and he literally said “nah there’s no point. Plus terry is kinda boring”, or something along those lines. So it’s crazy to see him use him here.

Terry is his true main. His Kazuya is still not fully optimized yet

Riddles typically relies on his character's gimmick to win. GO is much more spammable than whatever the tekken rage thing is called that Kazuya has. GO was a better option against a player who's super aggro like Kola.

Quite the opposite really. Riddles does not have a high opinion of Kazuya. He finds Kazuya exhausting to play, not to mention he struggles in many matchups with some he can't do anything in.

That's the point. It adds counterplay. That's what makes smash different. If you want those kind of combos play KoF, Street Fighter or Tekken. You really think you should get free combos in smash cuz you touched the button? Part of the game is reading and tracking DI. Like it or don't, but its in the game and there's counterplay.

@@direwolf8093 that’s a weak counter argument, you might as well be saying “if you wanna play an actual good competitive game then don’t play smash”. Calling inconsistent bread and butter combos “part of the game” just sounds like copium, it shouldn’t be part of the game, it’s ridiculous. You shouldn’t call it “counter play”, because what you’re actually doing is understanding this game is a mess and preparing for something stupid to happen, you aren’t adapting you’re memorizing a mine field, that’s bad fighting game design.

Inconsistency in a competitive game is bad, smash is an inconsistent game, therefore smash isn’t a good competitive game. It’s one of the best party games ever made, and the inconsistency is excusable in that context, but the fact that people actually play this game for a living is sad. Imagine being able to fall out of a combo for no good reason in tekken, or in rocket league if you hit the ball one way and it goes the complete opposite way, or you can just stand up after getting a kill flash in marvel, the shit that goes down in smash would not slide in any other game, but y’all are such fanboys you play it anyway.
