I came for the swtor content. Stayed for the doggo. Joking aside, you have probably the easiest guides to follow. I'm a newer player still so you've been a lifesaver. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much, I"ve seen so many guides over the years, and this one feels like the very first one that dumbs down to rotation to what and how I can comprehend it. Alot of guides go off on tangents about this and that and waterboard you with a ton of info, and by the time they are done still does not feel like I know what the rotation is. I've been gone from the game for a long time, and this vid helped me get a grip so I can look to launch off of.
I love doing dailies, chapters, etc while having one of your videos in the background. It lets me practice new specs and abilities. I get to tinker a bit and play. It’s great man! Thanks again Mark, give the pup some head pats from me buddy!!
These guides are a lot better than those SWTOR fanpages that put out guides also. Those are good to read but SEEING rotation in action while explaining what is happening is 100 times more effective to understand. I didnt get best dps single target as Vigi spec and now i understand how to manage focus and keep dots. Cut to pieces was also great but that i knew already how to do.
Hey Mark, Great video. I am kind new to the SWTOR scene and I was wondering 2 things. What is a dot? And the stats you mentioned at the start (accuracy crit ect). How do you target them and get them to the numbers u mentioned. Thanks.
DOT stands for Damage Over Time, it’s an ability that continues to do damage even after it’s used. For your stats, if you go into your character pane (the screen where it says ‘damage’ ‘survivability’ and ‘support’ I believe) there should be a button below that which reads “Details”. Here you’ll be able to see the full breakdown of your character’s stat sheet so you can see your stats. However, if you’re just getting into the game, don’t worry about getting your precise stats just yet. That’s a conversation for later on down the road.
@@Biggsgaming thanks. I have gotten my knight to level 75 so I am now just looking for how to be better with him and your videos are very informative. Thanks
Nailing down your stats is more of an endgame kinda thing. I didn't worry too much about it during 6.X until I hit endgame and started grinding for IR 306. DPS classes heavily rely on crit, accuracy, and alacrity stats. You'd be looking for gear that focuses on (aside from the primary 3: Mastery, Endurance, and Power) Alacrity, Accuracy, and Critical. I like to call it MEPCAA lol As Mark said, don't worry about stats until you hit endgame. It's another kettle of fish
My favourite rotation with Vigilance Guardian (each to our own), was Sabre Throw -> Force Leap -> Sundering Strike -> Vigilance Thrust -> Blade Barrage -> Overhead Slash -> Blade Storm -> Plasma Brand -> Blade Barrage. Rinse, repeat from Vigilance Thrust. I often forget about Combat Focus, Force Clarity is your best friend to dish extra DMG and DoT. I find using Plasma Brand is helpful for not only ticking DoT but also completing the cooldown of Blade Barrage. Again, each to our own lol I also main Vengeance Jugg, so the rotation is pretty much the same being a mirroring discipline. Same rotation, different names. I always prefer the comfort of playing as a DoT class. While not matching DMG output to Sentinel/Marauder, Guardian and Jugg still perform well and intermediate DMG output specced right.
Hey great video was wondering if you were planning on making any smuggler guides in the future preferably scoundrel guides? And what do you think is the best spec rn for scoundrel is?
Could you clarify whether hemophilic tactical changes the single target rotation at all since your dots get refreshed automatically? I'm leveling up a very old jugg alt right now and still need to get the tacticals
Hemo fits right in with the single target rotation since it refreshes our dots with blade barrage, it’s essentially just extra free damage but it’s not worth worrying about for the most part. If you really want to Min-max it, only use blade barrage in filler slots 2 and 4, but that’s getting really nitty gritty.
hello where did you get the implant fearless Victor package the yellow Focus why is there another one with the same name but it's rage and it's red I don't know if it's understood thanks
So typically implants were colored off their base tertiary stat, yellow = accuracy, red = crit, green = alacrity. However, with 7.0, for some reason that logic went out the window and they applied colors at random to each legendary. People complained, so they changed it back and re-colored some of the legendaries. So now Fearless Victor is red again, it's the same one, so you should be good to go!
On the Vigiiance smash build, I am having trouble after the first smash, critical focus, getting the next vigilant thrust to come off cooldown fast enough. I have 14.42 alacrity btw
Go ahead and get that alacrity above 15 for the shorter GCD if you haven't already. Many say that having it just under a threshold is pointlessly using points, I think it still benefits having better energy management and such depending on what class you use. In this case, being just under a threshold probably is wasteful due to energy being based on focus. But, if you get it just a little bit higher then you'll have a shorter global cooldown.
I basically never use strike. It’s only an ability to use if you screw the pooch. Rip technically does more damage than slash, but it so rarely activates since we’re dps that it’s barely worth mentioning. Single target on a dummy without min maxing, I’m at ~27k just following the basic Overhead > filler > blade > filler > thrust > filler rotation. Technically there’s an exact 24 button rotation you can follow that will get you up to like 28/29, but I don’t really care enough to memorize it.
@@CEverly Sure, hopped on and scraped some of the rust off, got to like 26.2, it's not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination, no gold augs, 109.97% acc, 7.56% alac, 32.38% crit, it's a little lower than what I remember it being but I'll take it for the first time touching it in a while parsely.io/parser/view/653692
Does cut to pieces work in single target scenarios as good as the other tactical? Since you can't spread dots as much you won't get as many CD reductions which means you can use vigilant thrust less often. So, is it better to switch the tactical out for the other one when approaching a boss?
Correct. Honestly this spec is the prime example of having the loadout system built out, because I just swap between hemo slash and cut to pieces between trash and bosses. It's beautiful.
Cut to Pieces is great for scenarios if you're running Star Fortresses. I struggled on Heroic 2+ (Vet) Star Fortresess and saw an absolute difference switching between tacts.
@@rangerslayer2260 I have never done these star fortresses, are those like Flashpoints? So far I found a few boss fights in FPs where Cut to Pieces was really great to play with, mainly at the first boss in Mandalorian Raiders (if all 3 enemies are stacked up all the time you can go ham with vigilant thrusts) and the first two boss in that one Rishi flashpoint where you fight the rancor and its tamer (again, if they are stacked up for most of the time it's crazy) and the boss calls in many adds every now and then (they burn down in seconds with that tactical). Well, and killing trash mobs in general is amazing with that tactical, if your group has a healer, knows how to stay together and is rather quick you breeze through FPs
