I quite like that Malora wasn't just a throwaway side quest character and she rose to the highest echelons of the Sith Empire. Her quest against Lord Rening was one of my favourites on Korriban. :D
back in the old days, on imperial fleet there was a superbly hot female darth who used to give kaon under siege questline briefing. I forgot her name, it was a darn shame eaware did not use her again. she seemed like a fine character.
And then Malgus simply pushes her away. Darth Noòx looked down upon her the entire time, too weak, foolish and too consumed by her own work, Malora isn't fit to be a member of the Dark Council
@@toraryoung 1. I think she may have a much bigger role in the story to come. Her experiments on Ossus shoes that she is skilled at manipulating living creatures/species and controlling them. Ans her off-hand comment on the last scene you see her suggests, to me, that she may have a plan in the works to take control of Malgus away from Acina. 2. One character that should have come back is Thana Vesh, I think. She has a massive role in the Taris plotline, and she is obviously an ambitious and powerful Sith. Choosing to let her live, she should have, imo, gone on to become a top level Sith of that day.
@@justinlacek1481 are you taking about malora?? yeah i think she might have a bigger role in the future. i however was talking about a particular female darth, a very nice one, not only physically but morally too. she used to give kaon under siege questline back in the old days. she was one of the first morally adequate darth i had seen. forgot her name since i have not played for a long time, i guess eaware forgot her too ...sad...
"What's so special about the Library?" "Knowledge. Research and documentation of long-forgotten techniques, gathered from both the Jedi and the Sith." *Darth Nox smacking his lips in the Background* "MINE MINE MINE MINE MINE!"
He serves a puppet she's only emperor because it took an entire empire to imprison us, the title is rightfully ours for there is not a single Sith left that is stronger than us, maybe magus but we've defeated him before.
According to a canon book “The Book of Sith”, it’s stated that Vader takes inspiration from both Malgus and his armour. Sideous actually suggested this to him and was all for Vader to take inspiration from him, having his reasons for this.
You are paranoic my dude whats so "iconic" about this LOSER who was killed by every main hero in this game - PATHETIC! I hope game will have option to execute this trash in future i dont need no weaklings around me.
@@Nandreani Yeah the Revan novel.... Single handley crapped upon Kotor II. Honestly as much as I played SWTOR (and liked to extent) I rather have a giant MMO not restricted by garbage developer plots and linear progression. Another SWG would do much better.
Malgus: *pops out of the shadow drop* Cor: I didn’t think you were still alive. Malgus: *takes a good look at him* is this cosplay? Do you...want my autograph or something...or...?
I believe that like general Grievous(he had a micro chip in his cybernetic brain that compelled him to be loyal to the separatist cause) Mallgus is probably in the same situation . Or perhaps he simply is in her debt for saving him.
There's a way simpler explanation. Acina reformed the Empire exactly the way Malgus described it in Ilum and False Emperor FP. I doubt there's a need for some loyaltiy chip.
When I saw the carbonite scene in the trailer, I was like: "oh no, malgus". When I saw him leave it, my mind just became mush. This guy should be dead. If I have to guess, I think acina was the one that saved him and now he serves her.
That kinda makes sense. Malgus was a great strategist, and he promoted ideas of racial diversity within ranks of the Empire, implying that it will make the Empire stronger. And now we see Acina following these ideas and shaping the Empire in this way.
There's a dialogue at the end where Malora confirms that Malgus was revived by Acina as Cyborg and that she isn't the only one who's holding the leash (maybe Vowrawn, too). She's using him as a weapon. When Acina calls him back to DK for "preparing" you can clearly see fear in his eyes. I think the good old Malgus is dead.
Waited for 5 hours tonight, until Bioware fixes the servers, but damn... finally some new SWTOR content! Malgus is freaking huge... Acina has him on a leash though.
I would have assumed the Alliance would have dissolved, wasn't it people from the Empire and the Republic coming together to fight a mutual enemy? Why would it still be around much less taking a side in a war against one of the two nations it is comprised of?
"Commander" sucks in general. SWTOR has completely lost the feeling of playing as your class story, and instead a generic "commander". I grow tired of this nonsense. If 6.0 does not have the alliance finally dissolved i'm gonna rage.
@@MarshalofFrance Hopefully you return to your respective side and merge the "Alliance" 🙄 back into the Republic or Empire Plus, that would be a nice little continuity filler to explain how the Coruscanti elite accent became the Imperial accent by the time of the main Star Wars movies. Because ex Imperial soldiers under the Hero's command merged into the Galactic Republic
Last time we saw Malora she was the apprentice to Lord Rennig. So, she's climbed FAR. Which, to some degree a sad indictment of how far the Sith Empire has fallen (or, at least lost ranks).
I didn't taunt Malgus :p He's very straightforward and he's exactly what you see. Pretty easy to read and still intimidating af o_O I like him though. Malora clearly can't be trusted, but she's also easy to read. Acina on the other hand... something felt off about her from the first time I met her. No Sith is THAT honest, and no Sith has ever like my Sith THAT much. I dunno. She's a hard one to read, but is hiding something for sure. No wonder she's empress. And she definitely had something to do with Malgus' survival and his "leash". That said, I'm pretty sure my Inquisitor won't fall for any body-snatching a third time XD
@@lilcolgatevert3715 I just watched a Sith Commander ally with the Republic and Vowrawn was Sith Emperor. It was literally stated that "Acina put Malgus back together." She definitely enslaved him in some way. Malgus mentions how he was "barely alive" so he had to choose between death and life in captivity. This will help getting him to either join us, or take command of the Empire. I'm curious to see where this goes.
I do find it amusing how they have Malgus IMMEDIATELY throw someone off cliff and to then have her come back to brush off the throw as a way to justify how he survived The False Emperor.
I agree. She can't be trusted. Although I like her, she's trying a little too hard to win us over for my taste. Something feels off about her. If it ever comes to it, I will try to get Malgus on my side against Acina, if she tries anything. I've been body snatched one too many times already :p
Look, There was emperor, killed by us, Meanwhile Malgus proclaimed himself emperor, killed (guess only almost now) by us. She can try but my Sith Marauder main has quite nice resumé in killing the rulers by now :)
@@lyrrr.8059 I'd do the same thing two reasons one I need a mad scientist Mandalore the Ultimate had Demagol why shouldn't I have Malora two having her join removes her from the Dark council and gives the chance for someone mature and capable also if we were able to we should be the one to tell Acina not to blame Malgus but Malora she's the one who delayed the operation and it was Malgus and myself who got a everything on track instead of wasting resources for another also if Malora screws up again it would fall to us to punish her
@@trollfacenationalist3653 yeah thats the thing, Zakuul had him. The sith must have had spies that took him and had him undergo surgery for his wounds and to put a kill switch in him.
Ill be honest Gnost Dural was one of my favorite jedi. I loved the short cinematics he documented before the games initial release and this was a sad thing to do but killing him was the only rational thing to do.
I think Bioware is gonna abuse the split timeline in a good way. Sure if the Alliance allied with the Empire, Gnost Dural is either dead or in captivity. But if the Alliance allied with the Republic Malgus just mauls him instead of killing him
Light side Wrath is my Favorite.... Basically turns to the empire and goes "be nicer or i'll fuck you all up". Usually light side decisions go completely against what any sith says but they either don't or can't stop you. I think it'll be more fun to let Malgus think he's giving the orders only to have you shoot down all his decisions hah
one Grand Sith Returned another is waiting (I am talking about Jadus of course) anyway as for what is the deal between Malgus and Acina well I have a theory. We clearly see a deep cut in Malgus' skull that is patched with cybernetic implants. In my mind that can only mean one thing. Brain surgery. Remember the programming that the empire forced on Cypher 9? Well, what if Acina has done that to Malgus in a buffed version. Malgus didn't look happy serving Acina. And we all know that he is way more powerful than her. And Malgus always wanted to become the new emperor. What I liked most about Malgus is that he always saw the bigger picture he was ruthless and merciless but he wasn't arrogant and he wasn't stupid. He had a bunch of aliens in his army recognizing their value. So I doubt that he would destroy everything like how to grow crops tech. That seemed out of character. I think that his extra violence is a side-effect of his brain surgery.(Heck the Cypher went near insane with his/her)
Considering all, I don’t like immortal characters. Even the most enduring hero or tough villain should know when to quit. Malgus suffered epic jaw and possible throat damage but reduced the sound effects with his Force talents. He was able to use the Dark Side to endure and recover. But brain or spine injury? I wonder what’s next. Even the mightiest dynamic ones eventually succumb. Perhaps someone like Malgus does not die hard but with a whimper or in a sudden humbling blow.
I'm calling it now that Malgus is gonna regain control by the time of the expansion. Idk if he will rule as the new emperor but I wouldn't be surprised if something happened to allow it. Unless a surprise bigger threat screws that up as a plot twist. Plus yeah, Jadus needs to return too. I kinda figured he'd actually have something to do with the control too given his past "experiments" but who knows.
12:40 That expression of sheer terror in his face... One can't help but wonder what unfathomable horror can put fear in the heart of one such as Malgus.
It's not getting mentioned, but I absolutely loved the power trip that was having him as a companion. His unique moveset was so damn powerful and cool to look at. It actually felt like fighting side by side with Darth Malgus, instead of some random companion
At first, I hoped he sincerely decided to join and serve Acina, as she is much better ruler then Tenebrae/Vitiate/Valkorion/Whatevermaniachasname... but she probably chained him by some way. :( He should be Sith Emperor.
I know it's a MMO and always has to be someone stronger. But after everything your character goes through, you just keep ending up other people's bitch.
I quit SWTOR in 4.x I felt like EA was just not giving Bioware enough resources to do the IP justice, and their limited budget, left them with limited choices, and a lot of the story options they were presenting the players didn't feel "good" to me. I will say though, Malgus looks really well done. His writing seems good, and his aesthetics are great; the cyanotic flesh with implants, and hints of other cybernetics... but especially his eyes. They glance around a bit, don't seem to focus on what they should, and I think I've seen them focus independently. He really looks like someone who might not be happy to be back (implied by his story comments) and isn't entirely under his own control (also, clearly implied by the story). ...I wasn't someone who was clamouring for his return, but it looks like they did a good job.
Wow. "A communications disruption can mean only one thing: invasion" "there's always a bigger fish" This is just, The Phantom Menace references: the update huh?
By the stars I hope so my Inquisitor would do it in a heartbeat he did it once already and seriously if it was me I would have done something similar to Koth loath as I am to say it and planted bombs in the Gravestone in case someone tried his stunt again and blow it up before losing my badass fleet the way we did. After all we get the super weapons on Iokath in the OP so we have a replacement for the Gravestone in power level at least.
Sadly we couldn't take over in KOTFE, since the Inquisitor already said she would be no match for him... but well... you know the whole bastard faction thing which ANNOYS ME WITHOUT END!
Acena: "Malgus, I want you to enact your authority as my Wrath and get rid of this incompetent, insane Dark Council member." Malgus: "Understood." Acena: "Now get in the box."
I can’t wait to play this at the weekend doing a completely fresh start I’ll be a Jedi Knight first. That where she said that “No impossible. You died.” Was my response to him coming back
I didn't have any hopes that Malgus was dead or alive after he tried taking over the Galaxy, but now he's alive and well it's good to see him again fighting for the Sith Empire.
Darth Malgus; Arrives by drop pod and instantly conducts an efficient and brutal military campaign, wiping away all obstacles and securing all strategic and tactical objectives. A Sith murder machine that's also a strategic genius and pragmatist. Goddamn.
I love Malgus, he is my favorite Sith ever. He is among the most powerful Sith ever to live and he lived a VERY long time due to his cybernetics so he had a very long and amazing life, I admire Malgus so much to be able to fight side-by-side with him virtually is a dream come true.
Whatever Acina is doing to Malgus is bad. That look of pure fear on his face when she told him to return and prepare for his next assignment was crazy. What does it take to make Malgus poop his pants?
He's definitely under her fucking finger, look at the fear in "so we may prepare you for your next assignment". You don't need to prepare a wrath, unless he's vulnerable or is about to be punished or both.
Just imagine if Darth Malgus was there to fight Arcann...who would win? Because it took four people to beat Malgus and grenades...it only took one person to beat Arcann?
Well i would put Darth Jadus on the table as Emperor, he is a master manipulator, his power was only second to the emperor and he is also a great strategist and planner i think THAT is what the Empire needs, a equally unchallangeable ruler like Vitiate, with ruthless cunning instead of sheer muscles.
Jadus is alive in every possible outcome, because he has foreseen that the Emperor was planning something big. But yeah both are great candidates while Acina is mostly reliant on some tricks to stay on top and vowran is just a manipulative worm in the end. But we will see hopefully they end this alliance bs for good this whole "commander" thing is very annoying especially when you consider you want a Star Wars story as a Sith and you get your Darth-Title stripped away and they seriously think this whole "outlander-commander" thing is something worth.
@@raveshaw6161 Compleatly agree the fact that the outlander-commander thing is annoying as hell. Damn the whole Eternal Empire arc was annoying as hell mostly because it felt as a forced and nostalgia-relient storyline. In my "head-canon" the Outlander/Commander is the Hero of Tython (fitting that he is the one that destroys Tenebrae once and for all), Lord Wrath stays as a military general in the Imperial Army and Darth Nox goes into hiding to perfect his rituals and sorceries in hopes of extending his life, amplifying his power and plotting to overthrow Acina. In regards to Acina, well, she has some tricks and is cunning but that's it. She is not exceptional and became Empress by default not by right. As Darth Bane would centuries later point out "the Sith became like the Jedi; too numerous and too weak".
@@jakobrenner2230 The fact that Jadus was second to Vitiate tells me Malgus wouldn't stand much chance if they were to fight. It would be less like Ludo Kressh vs Naga Sadow and more like Ludo Kressh (Malgus) vs the flying brick (Jadus)
So Malgus not only survived but stole Emperor's Wrath title....Boy can't wait to kill him again. Also, why the hell we would ever 'serve' Acina ? We are stronger than her and if anything we should be the damn Emperor...
@@arceptor Even before the Alliance...as the Sith Warrior, you WERE the TOP GUY in the Empire and literally killed the previous Emperor. If anything Acina should bow to you. Not to mention the 'Commander' should be more powerful than any of these characters by now anyways. So no, I don't get this subserviant bullshit at all.
He has a point though by now the commander should be the strongest force user in the galaxy. Why is Acina empress when you could easily kill her and take the throne for yourself. Hopefully in time we will be given the chance to do so in game
