In part 1 of this short DIY build series I introduce the new SX SST57 Strat copy I took delivery of recently. A super-budget guitar that has one of the nicest-feeling necks I've ever known.
The goal is to take this as close to a real Eric Clapton signature Stratocaster as possible at a fraction of the cost of the real-deal Fender model.
I chose the SX as the donor guitar because of the neck and as luck would have it I found one online at a discounted price of less than $100 US!
The neck profile is quite chunky... Close to a 50's Strat neck as far as I can tell. This made it perfect to use as a budget Clapton Stratd, seeing most other affordable brand Strat copies have thinner and narrower necks, which are still nice, but not as close in feel to a 50's neck.
This video is talking only, no sound demos... Yet!
