Bus: Volvo B7R, Volgren CR228L
First video of this kind. This is sort of a test video/recording. I plan to improve several things in the future.
Safety disclaimer: I do not interact with the camera in any way while I am driving, and it is mounted out of sight so I can't even see it when I'm driving. My mind is not on "making a video" when I am recording, I drive like I do normally. The world around doesn't care that I'm recording, I still have to negotiate traffic, passengers, etc, like any other day. It is still my job after all, and I don't want to risk getting fired for a fun side hobby.

Thanks for sharing this great video mate. As a frequent Region 13 commuter and busfanner (and a passionate Volgren fan) I was very happy to see this come up. You're right though. To do long recordings like this, around winter will be the best time, especially with how quickly the dash of a bus can heat up from being in the sun for hours, let alone the dark dash of a Volgren Volvo. Really good you're doing tests with the camera, so that you can check how the equipment goes while on the road. I will say though that the positioning on the bottom right did give it an additional nice touch, since being oriented on the driver's side means it can double up as a training video for anyone who might want to drive buses in the future and they can get familiar with the route.

Glad you enjoyed the video. As much as it is a recording designed to be of interest to bus enthusiasts, I also wish for it to be of educational value to the less "enthusiast" general public, who instead of only looking at a PDF of the bus route or looking on Google Maps, can see in moving pictures what areas the bus goes through, traffic, atmosphere, etc. What you said about it being a training video, I hope that it does help a potential driver one day. I am seeing more and more people join the drivers ranks who I'd say are of "the new generation", so I think going forward, one more way for bus companies to bring this job to the public consciousness (and therefore increase recruitment rates) is to have more details of the job on social media (more, as opposed to just standard generic recruitment ads) where it's way more accessible to the younger generation. I think it would benefit "the company" if more future bus enthusiasts became converts to actual bus drivers through these sorts of recruitment tactics because they would bring a lot of passion to the job. This probably won't happen, but I do wish "the company", or maybe even the government higher-ups, TfNSW, would make official versions of these. I think it would be quite easy for "the company" or TfNSW to run a bus with a more professional camera setup and record routes this way. The incentives for the official parties to make these videos are limited and therefore as I've said, it probably won't happen, but one can hope.
