The judge spoke so well. He shut it down. The ,man is convicted. Oh my baby wouldn’t do that. Surprising how many mothers don’t know their sons or daughters very well. Judge handles this well.
This judge at the end make a summary faithfully describing the journey taken by this murder .He rebate all the excuses made by this men in his failed attemp to negate the clear evidences of his crime. Poor mother evidently an enabler which tried to cover the actions of her son . I ask if she could even believe in her own worlds. Sad for his family too.
Sometimes the mother is right. In Jonathan Flemings case, his mother was with him in Florida four hours before the murder took place in New York City --and Fleming was still convicted. Fleming spent nearly 25 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. The evidence is the key--and the only key not facial expressions and whatnot.

Bill McVeigh certainly did not teach his son Timothy how to build bombs and that it is OK to kill 168 people for a cause. Timothy told his father that he was indeed guilty of the Oklahoma City Bombing 3 months before McVeigh was executed. You can bet the accusation and conviction of McVeigh was very painful for his father. There are times where the person was wrongfully convicted--and the only true believer in their innocence is the family member. The victim's family is content to believe that the convicted person is indeed guilty.
There is no bond stronger than a caring, loving father and his children, especially a daughter. I am not a father yet, but I would gladly jump in front of a blade, a bullet, a train for a daughter.

Even now with an avalanche of evidence as the Judge say's he still acts arrogant and offers no apologies, depraved heart certainly is an accurate discription of this evil

He had no response even when his poor father tried to defend him. He knows he’s guilty and probably thinks his family hasn’t got a clue. Life without parole is justified.

The crime of murder affect everyone like ripples in a pond: the victim's family demanding justice--a paltry second prize because they will never see their love one again--and the perpetrator's family in denial or questioning (Where did I go wrong? If a son of a police chief can commit murder, than anyone can...it is the child's choice to commit murder--not the parents. Timothy McVeigh's father did not teach his son how to make bombs or that it is OK to kill 168 people. McVeigh's father was only about to accept his son's guilt 3 months before his son was executed.) The crime of murder creates pain for everyone.
So sorry for all who suffered from this matter. I've watched part of the trial online. Samantha was viciously murdered and stabbed over 100 woman. She died alone and terrified. The Defendant Murdered her. The evidence is overwhelming and all points to the Defendant. Rest in Peace Samantha.

An escalating power high, that climaxed into a brutal murder...probably started stabbing her when she began trying to kick out the window. Such a brutal ordeal when u picture it playing out in ur head..he is a certified monster.
This man was a cold blooded killer who stood & said boldly he did not commit this crime. What an insult to the men & women who were really imprisoned unjustly. No remorse, Samantha was stabbed 120 times. Life in prison is not enough. I don't believe in the death penalty but he sure made me second guess my belief. I could not imagine my loved one being murdered, let alone being stabbed 120 times. My heart goes out to this family.
Why does Uber not have something visible on the roof of their cars. All I see is a cheap decal at the back. Christ even Dominos pizza drivers have an indentifier on the roof.
Before getting in the car, always check the model of the car AND the decal that Uber provides you for the driver to confirm that you are getting in the right car

Most parents and especially mother's would defend their children and not a matter of knowing or not knowing your children. My heart breaks for both families and the judge was amazing and even explained the reasoning behind permitting Nathaniel speaking to his parents and that he was cuffed.

People are so quick to complain about God and blame God for man's follies and evil, wicked inclinations. People will drink, get high, smoke, binge on porn, DUI, cheat, still, hate, kill, rape, molest, and do all kinds of evil but when it's time to be accountable for the actions we commit, no one wants to step up and receive the consequences for those actions. People don't try to heal or be better. We are so darn selfish it's decaying our earth. And the crazy thing is God freely gave us (no strings attached) this beautiful earth to take care of, and humans have just trashed it and destroyed it by their selfish lusts, gluttony, greed, hate, ignorance, perversions, need for power, and pride. But yes, there's still hope in Jesus Christ, which is the narrow road that, unfortunately, people don't like to take because they think it infringes on their rights, freedoms, and their reputation. Samantha, and her sister both, are absolutely beautiful. Her impact statement was so touching, and non vengeful. What an amazing family she has. This is just so tragic.
My heart goes out to the Josephson family. I pray that they continue to find healing . He definitely is guilty, you could see his body language change when her sister got up to speak. What an evil bastard. I hope he is haunted by this for the rest of his life!

I just started watching this trial I know I am late but I couldn't watch it all. Turned my stomach watching the forensic testify. Omg just the thought made my stomach hurt so bad and I was full of emotions. They say in the blink of an eye our lives can change. I believe this truly. I pray that family have peace in there hearts and lives because this was a horrible situation....that young man has ALL of his natural life to think and regret this pour decision he made that night. I live in Columbia & I go to five points often (the area where she was abducted) & it’s just scary knowing a psychopath was just roaming that area looking for a victim. I feel so horrible for Samantha’s family, I can’t imagine losing a loved one in such a violent manner. I would imagine they’re all very traumatized. It just isn’t fair. 🥺

I'm heartbroken for this young woman and her family. I've cried uncontrollable tears for them and I never even met her. This is horrible!! I'm so thankful this monster was smart enough to successfully cover his crime. I would love to hear his excuse for the evidence they found during his arrest.

You know there was a trial where it was a POF date that went bad ... guy was murdered by I think 3 guys and the girl that set the victim up ... ok point is she didnt care about going to prison as long as the shooter ... horrible guy killed a young black father whom begged for his life as he got shot ... but hmmm if there was someone else he will crack one day ... nice that you had such heartfelt words to her sister .
I did not hear the judge say " without the possibility of parole", so does that mean the murderer could get out of jail at some point in the future for good behavior?
Unfortunately, I cannot understand her. The Judge should have instructed her to be clear and speak up. I realize it's not easy with losing her sister to this POS who doesn't deserve to breathe.

Is this the animal that took the life of the young lady who mistakenly thought he was her Uber ride? The Judge presiding over this court is the best. How he shut the mom down was what is needed. He wouldn’t entertain her saying her son was innocent .

I can't imagine the horror this poor girl must have felt when she realized that she would never get outta that car alive. Justice has been served. I do not agree with the death penalty. It is wrong. Mr Rowland should spend the rest of his life incarcerated in a 5 x 8 cell with one hour rec each day. May our Heavenly Father provide mercy and healing to both families involved.
I agree... a crime this extreme wasn't the first horrible thing this man has done, it's just the first time he got caught & as sure as the sun's coming up tmrw his mom & close friends know he's a scoundrel & weren't surprised at the news he'd been arrested.
This guy is alarmingly without any recognition of the crime he did commit. I would guess he's a psychopath down to his bones. As such he has undoubtedly dismissed responsibility for the murder and all the other crimes that pave his way to the present. Oh yes, he is competent and fully understands his crimes are crimes. It's just that he is special and does not live by rules and circumstances dictated what happened, not his dark heart. How could such a person be reached, let alone reformed? He has lived in his vacuum for his entire life and there is no atmosphere which would resuscitate his dead soul.
