By the 4th hurdle this race was totally over. Syd is an absolute hurdling machine! I love the fact her and her coaching team have her working on other events outside of the 400 hurdles. She’s already an Olympic gold medal winner /WR holder in that event. That is the pinnacle! So what other goals are there as an athlete at such a young age? It makes so much sense to work on the different aspects of your skill set instead of just committing yourself to a single race going forward. Props to her and her team for being open to doing more than just her speciality event .

Amazing finish. It wasn't even close. Props to these ladies. I can't imagine it is easy to run hurdles. Your timing has to be right when you leap. You have to focus on leaping at the right time to make sure you don't get tripped up by a hurdle and you still have to be cognizant of where your competitors are. Simply amazing

Fun fact: when hurdling, most of the time you actually focus more on rhythm and taking your “normal” amount of steps in between each hurdle instead of actual timing 😄

Allyson wasn't dominating her events like Syd has... Most her gold medals are relays for the Olympics. Syd is gonna be like the female Bolt. She can get her 100 hurdles down to 12.2. Her old teammate Camacho Quinn may break the WR. Syd always beat her in the 100 and 200. Her technique and step down is dramatically better than this time last year. She had little to no wasted movement today
@curtismiller319
@curtismiller319 2 года назад
@@SeanD30 Allison is a 5 time olympian, she's medaled in her individual events every olympics. There are more relay options FYI. It's not surprising someone of her talent and range to be on many relays. She won bronze a year after having a baby beating ladies 10/12 years younger. I hope we see Sidney around 5 olympics but she has far to go before she can be compared to Allison. Also worth noting- the sprint event are far more popular and competitive. The WRs are much harder to take down in her events. Again I love Syd but Allison will be the US GOAT a long time.
@SeanD30
@SeanD30 2 года назад
@@curtismiller319 please learn to read. She has 1 gold medal from her open events and that was the 200 in 2012 when she beat VCB after losing to her in 04 and 08. Again... syd dominates her event and has set a WR already. Allyson was never on that level. If we put Syd on every 4x4 and 4x1 Olympics squad the next 2 Olympics she will surpass Felix gold medals total by the age of 28.. Which is why I say she can be like Bolt. Bolt dominated and won in 3 events. 2 open. If Jamaica had a good 4x4 team he could've got cheap medals and more gold medals by being a leg on it too.
@SeanD30
@SeanD30 2 года назад
@@curtismiller319 many years due to politics she got to he on relays she didn't deserve lol. She also lost in a photo finish to her teammate in the 100 in 2012 and somehow she got to go instead of her teammate who never made another Olympics. Theres alot of politics in the sport which is how Marion Jones got on the 4x4 and wasn't running 400s at that time but yet she replaced others who were in the pool so she could try to get more gold medals. Last year Felix made the 4x4 when the most deserving was the US champ. Although Felix beat her at the Olympics you can't not run the damn US champ just to boost Allyson medal count which is what they did.
