@purposesquash I don’t know where in Australia you’re both from but if it’s any help, here in Sydney, the weather has been mostly cold and overcast. It only warmed up about a week ago and we’ve had maybe 3 days of our normal sunny weather.

I agree living in melbourne every one says that the fireworks on the yarra are the 😅best but we drive up to sydney each and every year to watch them live. best part of new years

Yeah the soundtrack for last years was a little better, although in terms of fireworks, this year’s has slight improvements over last years. Overall I’d rate both shows the same, just different. I wouldn’t say this is the best show they’ve ever done so far.

It was looking like some interesting developments were going to happen from the 'intermission' at 9:00 to about 10:15, but then it sort of petered out and was treading water for another minute-plus until the rainbow firefall. The fireworks were great, just didn't come off as carefully composed as before. A lot of it was probably that the droning, repeating soundtrack didn't give many creative pacing options. Last year there was a sliding scale sync'ed to waves of fireworks up and down the bridge and soon after the whole city exploded in white, that's the kind of thing that gets you in the moment. Focal moving points up and down the river. A lot of this just kind of ..I would say replaced vision/heart/creativity with bombast. Again no disrespect to any individual that worked on it - everyone has to work within what they get handed. The 9 o-clock show kind of went the opposite direction in a *very* experimental soundtrack and a couple fun visual ideas, but at least it was representing a clear theme/cause.

Even when we could have a beer and barby it was chilled , Australia will never be like America ✌️♥️😁

Sydney has the edge because it is mid- summer, with well over a million people lazing in the heat! London was great this year with the addition of the drones.
