Just a note on the early descent. Aussie centers almost always give an initial decent flight level with the STAR clearance, but they say ‘when ready’, so you don’t have to descend immediately and can wait until your TOD

As someone that flies in Australia IRL, pretty normal to get battered by the westerlies. Last flight I was on was Melbourne to Perth on a 330 and we got down to 390kts GS 😅

I got into 737-800 and I'd like to do a flight with my friend on YourControls. Do you have a rough idea on how we should join each other while avoiding any desync? I know we need same configuration etc. Any other things I should know? Thanks!! Very excited to fly with my friend, but I'm worried about any issues with this.

make sure you send each other your flightplan files from simbrief and go slow on the FMC to avoid desync. You also have to be in the exact same configuration (cold and dark etc) before joining. If you don't want any scenery issues you must have the identical scenery you are flying with.

Quick heads up with ATC in Australia they’ll often give you “when ready descend to…” so that you descend at T/D

Yeah that's correct, you just decend to that altitude at T/D not right away, it's super helpful and prefer it to the SOP'S in other countries.

@@fitycalibre7555 nope the latest version supports the PMDG, make sure you send each other the rte files off of simbrief and you both have the same sceneries. Also you must be in the same cold and dark setup before you connect.

I took a flight from Los Angeles to Sydney on delta a330-300 connecting flight from Sydney to Johannesburg nice flying over Antarctica another connecting flight from Johannesburg to London on British a380 upper deck then later connecting flight from London to Mexico City on the same plane and the next flight from Mexico City to Guatemala City I’m on the beach house

Not that it matters for simulation purposes, but in the real world Delta wouldn't be allowed to make this flight. There's some law/rule that says airlines can't fly domestic flights in countries they aren't based in.

I heard Ryan's voice a few days ago as AAL247 while I was enroute to MDPC from CYHM, As soon as I heard him I was like no way, small world. I control at CYHM when not flying, cool to see y'all on the network. Hope to see ya in the Toronto area as we now have Toronto Thursdays.
