FTKs suck, and while laughably inconsistent and prone to failure from any disruption, they are only really resolvable by a proactive ban-list (which Master Duel has been super ass on).
Lol it's difficult when you absolutely refuse to play any outs or hand traps. Like "bro I totally would've won in ranked ladder with my snipe hunter ordeal of the traveller combo" lmao like what dog?
@@wilhelmbecknee5870 I don't quite understand people who refuse to run outs or handtraps in their decks and then get mad that they lose a lot to combo decks That's like not locking your door in a dangerous area and get upset because you keep getting robbed
Ain't as bad as someone filling their deck with cards that allow the to draw more and more cards and win with Exodia before you even have a turn. The competitive yugioh is just full of shit right now with hundreds of way to lose in the first turn.
@@mirkosaor they probably expect it something like the winged dragon of RA abilitywhere you need to pay life point or there ability is to destroy card not gaining 13K attacks turns one that higher then what any of the GODS card can gain without shennigans
If you couldn't follow it, Number 43: Manipulator of Souls ability allows it to gain atk equal to the number of life points gained, so either way, the opponent would've had a monster with 13000 atk, but the second part of the ability allows it to deal direct damage equal to gained lp as long as Manipulator of Souls is face up, thus, Sykkuno was never meant to win that duel even if he had magic cylinder in his hand.
@@solidmoon8266 Unfortunate thing is that since it was an almost uninterrupted attack, trap cards would've been completely useless, the only way sykkuno would've been able to negate the attack would've been book of moon or something else, allowing him to potentially place a trap card before, probably inevitably, losing.
@@solidmoon8266 yeah it is how the Yugioh Meta is. You also have people who summon 6 monsters in a single turn and takes 30 minutes for them to even end their turn.
@@thatdidact7893 Only a degenerate would love the game now where you dont even get to play and your opponent cucks you by negating all your counters on the 2nd turn while summoning 10 times on the first. The game is completely unbalanced and suffers from over design.
@EgyptianGoodGamer yeah, I agree! It's ridiculous that Magical Scientist FTK is legal in this game, imagine not even being able to play before you lose...wait a minute. That deck existed in 2005. And back then there weren't even any handtraps to stop it. Early competitive Yugioh was not the playground experience you remember. It was a combination of tragically inferior MTG and stupid FTKs that were impossible to stop.
This perfectly sums up the problem with Yugioh. There are too many decks where, if you don't starting hand the out, you flat out lose. No way around it.
This ftk is actually easier than most to stop since you do actually get a turn and draw phase so your quick play spells can stop it, too. Not just hand traps. You can still just get unlucky in a bo1 of course.
This duel is a prime of example of why bo1 are bad. If you win the coin toss and go first, your opponent can't do much, unless they open a bunch of handtraps.
There's ... no defense for this. Nothing should be that ridiculously easy to get off. He drew a card, during his draw phase on his first turn.. and lost 13k lp. This era of yugioh is just brain dead, because they don't know how to balance cards anymore.
@@oneofthekindscarf8612 see you're wrong lol no 1 cares about that crap....we don't watch Syk to learn how to be pro MD players lmao....we watch him for memes and content....and thats exactly what we expected....
Literally the same thing happened to me, with an added spice of every destiny hero on the field, and they put a card on my field that negated my spells
For me i lost in turn 1, i dont remember how many magic and trap cards were played but by the time he was finished he had 3 cards left in his deck and all 5 pieces of Exodia in his hand
@@reignguard Indeed, it's not an activated effect, so there is no response window required. You out it with Droplet, a Link monster, or a Tribute monster.
Well that was a interesting incouter with a utopia player using numeron dragon and the card that deals the damage of the cards attack. Usually it's Draco future hope harbinger Leo Ray and that 3000 utopia card pass.
Technically the strategies really aren't that hard to counter but if you don't have a competitive deck. This happens. One hand trap would have shut this down before it even started
@@zepaduse97 Yea I don't think they're even aware, and honestly it's better that way - once I saw how stupid this game can be these days I lost all interest, I would have rathered not found out
@@CrimsonHeart3 the game is fun the players are try hards toxic bitches who once you screw them over will surrender or the virgin they re fake internet problem
I remember going up against this exact same deck, the moment I saw those zs monster cards I knew what he was facing. It's pretty easy to stop it but unfortunately syk just didn't have the right cards to do so.
@@dorkymemes1802 There's a bunch of cards, staples, you ought to be running in your deck. Odds are you'll draw some of them, and in doing so you would be able to stop this combo since if you interrupt even one of their cards, they can't otk. The searcher for the Rank up (He had it in hand here tho) The first special summon off of Dragonair, or the second for that matter Nibiru would take them out. There's ways around it, sykkuno just doesn't play them xd

@@tzitzitzitzi1584 Well people have created bots to get accounts to max level to sell them after, so they give the bots these FTK decks. If they can full combo, they win, if you interrupt their combo, they scoop immediately.
I’ve experienced multiple of these…..It is really irksome to say the least. Those and the matches where I have absolutely no clue how they aren’t timing out but I haven’t had a turn in over 10 mins….
@Wolfnagi that's one of going about it, I went first and used runick flashing fire before number 43's effect resolved so I wasn't affected. The guy then scooped lmao
If you think that was crazy then have I got a replay that you'd enjoy. Turn 1 and dude activated about 50 different effects that resulted in him summoning two Supreme King Dragon Starving Venoms and a Lyrilusc Independent Nightingale, then used SKDSV's effect to deal 8000 damage on the very first turn of the game. At least you had your draw and standby phase here.
if you see pendulum magician, and you dont open ht, scoop. It's always ftk. Especially on ladder. I havent met a single player that isnt an ftk playing that deck. Although they limit starving venom, soo... they cant ftk anymore.
@@roxas4587 nah dude, endymion doesnt play that. They usually play the mythical beast stuff. You know there is a very clear difference on combo line between an endymion and pendulum magician ftk player.
Eldrick is a thing so I don’t see the problem. I once lost to a deck that literally banished and discarded my entire deck. When it was my turn to draw I lost because I had no cards. Modern yugioh is insane
