You know when you meet someone and they say they like reggae and you say 'who do you like?' and they say 'Bob Marley' and your heart sinks a bit. THIS IS WHAT YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON!!!!
Old school reggae just works every time. New reggae can hit or miss sometimes, but this old school feeling, the way they sing, the instruments, even the not perfect quality just give a vibe I can't get every time with modern reggae
One of the first Joe Gibbs records I ever bought....1975 is when I started buying records in large quantities, in my opinion the period from 1975-1977 was the best period in the history of reggae music, looking at, and playing my collection from that time just confirms that.

My religion to stay sane in hard times ... Is to write down what goes on in the mind ... Like a poet a thought in time ... The ink draws the pain out ... Like poison from a wound ... A process of the conscious too refine ... Everlasting to the ancient rite of the golden rule ... So if you want to save your soul in eternal layer ... (meaning the layer of love for one another treating others as you would like to be treated too) ... Write your name up here in heaven were we made peace with our spirit ...

Can anyone remember what they did in 1975 when this Amazing Song first came out on pre-release? I listened to David Rodigan's famous praise to this rhythm, song, singer & Joe Gibbs production. Mighty. Jah Love.
I use this song every time I go bowling. "I know it's golden pen." Hear it as bowling pin. Put your finger symbolically on the bowling pin, look over at your girl, blow a kiss and a wink. If the stars align you get a strike. She doesn't like this song anymore. lol. I love it.
