Jude Miller They're one of my biggest influences not just in songwriting, but in not feeling the need to tune super low to be heavy along w/ others like Lamb Of God and Gojira (luckily most of their stuff can easily be played in Drop D) unlike most bands nowadays
Oh man you got to do something from the newer albums. This band is from my hometown and I'm so proud of them. Josh (lead guitarist in this vid and lead singer after this album) replaced Tom in Architects this year. You gotta listen to something from Edge of the Earth - Empyreal/ A Serpent's Toungue or Leech/Mercy from Dormant Heart. Vocals are SO much better imo and the musicality of the band improves without bounds. Check out the later stuff please!
You may like Josh's vocals more, but none of their new stuff will ever top the quality of this album as a whole. It's melodic, apocalyptic, and heavy as fuck. Josh is best-suited to just playing guitar, it's obvious his work is superior on this album. You cannot argue against that, however the vocals are a personal preference. Jamie's style was best suited for this album, and josh doesn't even hold a candle to jamie's delivery when sylosis occasionally plays teras live.
Jamie Graham is my favourite vocalist in metal. It's a shame he's still not with Sylosis but Josh Middleton is a great frontman now. Glad to see you reacting to a band from my hometown.
Wow, I've never heard this band before, but they have some cool stuff here, I'll chek 'em out. Thanks Ruben for giving us all these opportunities to discover new bands :D If you liked this, you should definetly listen to some Lamb of God stuff, they're an awesome metal band ;)
Dude, this is so old. From the first album and with a different vocalist than now. You should check out their new stuff. It's awesome (as always). And the vocals are done by one of the guitarists., Josh Middleton, that is also now guitarist for Architects.
Hello Ruben. This is my first ever comment on a youtube video but i've been watching you since you started so i thought it was time to say hi. Love your reviews! Always great to learn new metal through your reactions. It was nice doing a RIP to Warrel Dane. Great voice and front man. You are one of two or three youtubers who actually cared to do so. Whenever you can go ahead and check Born from Nevermore At Gigantour, by far the best live version of it. Also you should check a one more great French band... The are called Dagoba. (The crash)on Hellfest is one of their best. Thanks allot
Should definitely check out Amorphis. They have a ridiculous catalog of great tunes, so it's hard to suggest any single one. For one with a video attached, I'd say Death of a King. Think you'll find it right up your alley.
thanks for taking my recommendation :D you should totally listen to their newer songs too! they changed a bit after this album with Josh Middleton vocals, my choice would be "beyond the resurrected", hands down one of their best tracks
React to any song of Anaal Nathrakh. It's a mix of evil, madness and everything crazy that you can imagine. I recommend FORGING TOWARDS THE SUNSET or IDOL Thumbs up, guys!
Sylosis is great, but I honestly prefer heart of a cowards sound tbh. I think it's cool that the vocalist switch to heart of a coward, his cleans are amazing and go well with their sound. Thats just my opinion.
