Every musician is basically playing their instrument to its fullest potential at nearly every moment. Drums are balls to the wall. Singer can really lay down some beautiful lines. Guitars non stop greatness. I LOVE IT
They’re a four piece band now, the singer quit after this album and instead of hunting for a new vocalist the lead guitar player stepped up and does both the screams and lead guitar now, very badass dude

If you like Sylosis, check out Unearth, Trivium, Shadows Falls, Killswitch Engage and God Forbid. These bands were all part of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal (witch the exception of Trivium who came a bit later. The other huge band from NWAHM is Lamb of God, but they aren’t melodic like Sylosis.
Go listen to their albums edge of the earth and monolith, basically perfect metal albums. The lead guitarist became the lead singer as well and the band only got better as a whole. Recommend all of those 2 albums but if you just wanted to hear a song or 2 I’d recommend empyreal or apparitions
Check out the 2 albums after this called edge of the earth and monolith, absolutely stellar metal records. The lead guitarist/songwriter took over as the vocalist and they really hit their stride, for me edge of the earth is one of the best albums of the last decade or so, Josh Middleton is a top top tier guitarist too and one of the best riff writers alive. Empyreal is a good track to dive into if you just want a little sample, it’s the most popular song on edge of the earth record. Band as a whole is great tho and their discography is really good
Sylosis is incredibly good, you should check out something from the album after this one called edge of the earth, pretty much a perfect album, highly recommend empyreal or apparitions. This first album of theirs has a different singer, he left and the lead guitarist/songwriter took over as the vocalist too and the band only got better. One of the most underrated metal bands. Anyway good stuff guys, always nice to see some new people check it Sylosis.
