Shout out to Catch One Club in Los Angeles California. At this time this song was a club favorite and I couldn't get enough. I was in great company with celebrities and the soul train dancers. I have so many fond memories of this great era of the 80's. Wish I could relive it ❤❤❤
We the same age, sir :) I would have turned 17 in November. Growing up in NYC, I used to hear this in the skating rinks in Brooklyn and in the Bronx. Occasionally, I went to clubs like Bonds International in Times Sq. I used to grow my beard out to look a lot older than I was. Lol
I had moved to California like a year before this came out. The clubs in Los Angeles use to wear this one out. I couldn't get enough. I have fond memories partying in L.A. during the 80's. If I could relive that era I most definitely would.
A former singer with the legendary Roy Ayers, who also produced this absolute masterpiece of disco funk, and what a singing voice she has, especially with those incredible high notes!
Reading the comments made me want to post another personal comment. I'm 59 yrs old, still single, so I'm able up get out more than most, but COVID-19 slowed me some. However, I attend The Felix Hernandez Rhythm Review dances in NY regularly and look forward to hearing him play this each time, which doesn't always happen lol. But this song is Vintage and still my #1

I Remember I took this cut with me to college with another to Ball State in Muncie my freshman year in fall 81. I talked to the record store in Whitely ( section of Muncie) and then at the party I heard the Dj play this and then I heard the radio station out of Nap ( Indianapolis ) put it into rotation. It was not down there before I started talking it up.. That was cool.. This is a cool jam
You can't go wrong when Roy was involved back in the day. Love Sylvia she appeared on Roy Ayers albums and on of my favorite Funk album of all time by Ladies of the Eighties, 80's Ladies was also produced by Ayres and Rick James if I'm correct. Check out this CD every track is KILLER! Turned onto you is my fav!!! Thanks for posting!!!
