Both paths have their own sets of advantages and are suitable for different stages or types of artists. It's always vital for artists to explore and understand these differences to choose a path that aligns best with their career stage and goals.

Yeah but are they going to charge all the collaborators on the track 20/year to collect their royalties. OneRPM, CmdShft don't charge everyone to have an account. I think that is weak sauce. Distrokid does this. With 60k songs being uploaded every day to Spotify, Distrokid will release anything. I could put 2pac on a song and release it without permission and Distrokid will push it out and get flagged for it later. These companies can't charge $20/year and offer support. Tunecore and OneRPM and CmdShift take 20-30% of RU-vid Mechanicals or other publishing. What's Symphonic taking? Cause they don't advertise that on their benefits.

I have them but have not used them yet for any releases. I just don't like the idea of having to pay an annual subscription fee to keep my music online when cdbaby is a one time deal per song or album and done. I am specifically using symphonic for the resources to build on marketing.

I am using symphonic for a couple years now and I feel they are doing a good job. Some of their ad-on services are great. I have managed to get on some decent spotify playlists. Not sure that Symphonic has anything to do with that. My plan with Symphonic is they take 15% but I was not paying any fees (at least when I applied) for songs on the platform.

Awesome Mikalyn! Yeah Symphonic can pitch songs to Spotify on your behalf so if you did that then it was them that got you on the Spotify editorial. I'm keen to know if you did do that, how many times did you do it and how many times did you land on an editorial? Trying to work out the % of the time they got you on an editorial :)

@@leadsfurnace1349 that is a really great question - to be honest, I think the symphonic team has helped out a ton with my EDM releases that were with a label from Brazil. Those songs even landed on the covers of some huge spotify dance playlists. But my indie releases less so. Spotify radio has been where most of those listens come from and I am not sure if symphonic helps with that? Regardless for every song, I do the pitch and symphonic helps with that for sure with how they make you prepare the release.

@@leadsfurnace1349 When you release on symphonic they have a template you fill out. with my indie releases only Blame got on spotify editorial playlists - but Ready To Love You has done the best because of spotify radio. Its hit and miss on the editorial playlists though - whereas radio I think is generated by the listeners liking your song

I've only been on there for 3 months. Yesterday I log in, and I only see "Analytics" in my menu. My account "Roles" were restricted from Admin to "Analytics"... I can't upload any releases or do anything but look at my stats. Contacted support, no response. It seems like this has not happened to anyone else as I can't find anything on Google or in their Help Desk / Help section. Any ideas?

@@OmariMC_ Reached out to support only to find they terminated my account due to "suspected fraudulent activity" which is utter horses--t. I put out a few releases, got 500k streams on Spotify worldwide in the past 3 months (total), obviously hit the algorithm HARD.... got about 100k streams on Apple Music and Tidal combined, and 25,000 on RU-vid Art Tracks. Raised about $4,200 only to have them say they aren't paying me. To everyone out there-- NEVER. USE. SYMPHONIC. Stick to Distrokid or CDbaby, even though they're more expensive. Hope this helps.
