Klazz Brothers & Cuba Percussion, Ankara Presidential Symphony Orchestra, Conductor Erol Erdinc, "An der schönen blauen Donau" J. Strauss Jr.. No more vienna waltz but beautifull Cha Cha Cha.
BANQUETE TROPICAL CUBANO.
I believe salsa is not a rhythm in itself but a variety/combination of Latin rhythms and the “salsa” name created for marketing purpose in US. Tito Puente never liked the term. 🙂
It’s a terrific mix of Waltz and Cha Cha Cha. They even finish with those three CCC words. I’ve been involved with the Cuban music and dance scene for many years and discovered early on that there’s a different concept/interpretation of Cuban rhythms in North America. I figure that as Cha Cha Cha was created by Enrique Jorrin in Cuba and that the percussionists here are Cuban, then we should learn the real history. If you look up Cuban Mambo as a dance, you’ll see that it’s less like the music of Perez Prado. This isn’t a criticism of him. It’s just different. Actually the version of Sr. Prado’s composition, Mambo No. 5, sung by Lou Bega is closer to how Mambo is danced in Cuba. Salsa isn’t a term used in Cuba but it’s often used by dancers there who want to ensure that their performances will be included in the search criteria. Casino is the more authentic term but I think it’s better that they get the exposure they deserve by using the more familiar term of Salsa. Cuban music is innovative and creative, for example Timba. Then there’s the amazing Alexander Abreu & Havana D’Primera who are masters of Latin Jazz and all contemporary Cuban music. I’ve seen them live and I bet that the Klass Bros band have jammed with them at some stage. Watch their live version of “Sabroso” on RU-vid and enjoy! A good example of Casino is Havana D’Primera’s song “Pasaporte” or “Mi Dicen Cuba”.

Muchas felicidades y besos mi gran amigo Elio Rodríguez
Had tears in my eyes watching this = that little girl was born to dance! I wonder, who is she and where is she now! Possibly she is famous the world over!
