Practically extinct from today's concert hall Klughardt's music is as dramatic as it is tuneful. This work, as mentioned above, is a cross between the symphony and symphonic poem. This might have been because of Klughardt's early friendship with Liszt, who preferred the latter. However, we shall see, if we move through his output, he became more influenced by Schumann than Liszt. I am particularly interested to hear his 2nd & 5th symphonies that are unknown to me.
