What a pitty that he missed the last troll, since its a quite fun one. He was supposed to go into that final pipe (that led him to victory) by "mistake", while inside the Big Shoe, from doing the down-stomp thing to kill the Muncher. When you do so, you don't fit in the area with the Axe and you get spitted back (and I believe something blocks you there and kills you? I forgot about that part). So when you finally get to the victory (by going in that same pipe without the boot, just trying to kill yourself to go back to CP2) you are like "WHAT?". Also, the labeled as "CP1" and "CP2" (the latter that Juzcook interpreted as a third Check Point) are the same CP and the same room. While he is in that room with the bombs and the one mole on top, the whole area around CP1 gets bombed by like 20 big bombs to make it look different (revealing the mushrooms and what not hiding behind the destroyed blocks). There is a mini "jump scare" in that area (while he waits for the bomb to break the blocks and allow him to go through the pipe) whose sole purpose is masking the explosion going on just above the screen.
I saw in a walkthrough that the dev exit to skip CP1 involves hitting a kaizo block in the CP1 room, which releases a green guy carrying a spike ball, then you use the spike to break the blocks to the left, which opens a hidden door. This door leads to a hidden entrance to the final room. That dev exit room with the door also had a green pipe in it, and I think that pipe connects to the upper pipe in the hint room where you see you can get a leaf tail. I'm not exactly sure how you access it, but I think it might involve climbing over the red pipes in the room right after CP1 (the room where Carl thought he was outsmarting the troll by entering the red pipe covered by pirranahs).
@@ehcanadiankid1 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qtXUhmJA5gw.html (foreign language not required) Also, I'm dumb. It's the same dev exit for both CP0 and CP1 I'm pretty sure.
Checkpoint one is in a room with fully destroyable blocks. The room with the bombs coming out of the left pipe and mole is a fake-out room. The bomb going off there disguises the bombs going off in the CP1 room. The sound for getting checkpoint two is hidden by getting the leaf, so when you enter the pipe in that room you are back at CP 1. CP 1 is also located in such a way that you can't see you've already collected it if you enter that room without a powerup. That WASN'T different than last time Juz, you just got *very* lucky in your jump that you didn't go under the ON/OFF blocks. Well, you dodged one troll. Thanks for the video content Jvz. Thanks for the editing craw.
I've seen like everyone play this level at this point. It never gets old. Symplectic is an artist. Time to hit play on the video. (Since I'll forget after, thank you for sharing this juz, and thank you for no doubt editing it awesomely craw)
I'm sure Chat explained it in between cuts. "CP2" is CP1, its room being destroyed by offscreen bombs during the short mole and bomb interlude. The actual CP2 is the Racoon Leaf in the lava, since CPs can have attached powerups in MM2. "CP2"s flag is offscreen so only its pole is visible, on any visit where you can't fly up with the Racoon Leaf, obscuring the fact that the flag is still checked since you won't have CP2 without the Leaf. It's interesting to see what trolls everyone dodged. Ryu discovered the mushroom switch super early and skipped the start of the level, Geek figured out CP2 was the Leaf almost instantly, and CarlBlind. ;p
The really crazy thing is, since you have to go through a pipe to get to the CP1 room from the CP2 (lava) room, the hint area is a twice twice. Symplectic actually put a slope in that hint area, which I originally assumed to be the checkpoint flag lol. But then I noticed the real room had a solid wall to its right that didn't exist in the hint, and the windows didn't match.
The OTHER amazing thing about this level I only realize after watching a third streamer play it is it consistently teaches the player the wrong way to complete the level, and that's what gave juz issues in the early part. Also pleased juz found the boo ring in the switch room, I don't think anyone else fell for that one. :D
It was near 4 in the morning when you posted this, watched like 5 mins mins and nearly passed out till I heard "NOOORRRR" and had to pause it so I can watch the rest when I felt more awake and aware
CP2 is CP1 in this level, and the reason it isn't red is because when you grab the acorn suit from the lava, you grab CP3 at the same time. Then, when you grab CP2, you are actually taking CP1 again, but if you don't CP1 yourself, then when you die, you respawn at CP3.
I hit the Boot troll at the end too. Now, everyone has played the level after I played it...lol. Anyway, you need to check out Trollhouse Cookies and Trollercoaster of Emotions. The latter is G3R - NSJ - KGG. It's specifically for you and Carl...the level is phenomenal. I don't remember the code for the other troll level; I'd have to look it up.
Fun fact: There is a twice twice! In the room where you regrab CP1, you can see a hint for the previous room. However, in the real copy, there was a checkpoint down there, but checkpoints must be in different subworlds. Because of this, Symplectic had to replicate the CP2 grabbing room, but there are a couple of errors, such as the background windows not lining up, and there being no solid wall on the right hand side. Also, I'm not sure if pipes can go to the same subworld, anyway. I don't own MM2 lol
CP2 was at the launchers before the blue pipe that led to the room that said CPII. Which was the CP1 room with a few blocks blown up. They blew up while you were in the mole room.
You dodged actually two trolls in the final room. The first is if you jump down after the floor blows up (wait on the box at the left side instead of jumping through the semi solid, 22:10). Down there is nothing with a dose of "NO" and death.
@@curkokurko4770 True, that also is one (I think it had hidden blocks that disallow jumping back out). So he missed three. The third is the one he is told about at the end of the video.
i have seen Carl, Ryu, DGR and now Juz play this level and it was practically a different level each time. either this level or shano's level has to be the best troll level in SMM2 for 2020 and we aren't even in February. How does anyone top this? I ask only because i know someone will and it scares me.
you start with the pointless paths showing the true paths, then you get the checkpoint confusion... then you get TROLL AFTER TROLL AFTER TROLL TO YOUR FACE. You dodged basically all the trolls at the end thought T_T luckily geek and carl hit them all. If you wait on the first platform as the floor explodes you can drop down to a Nope, if you rush to the first boot you get softlocked, if you hold down with boot you go through the pipe and can't fit so you get shoved back into a block and die BUT you also see the skewer etc on the other side making you think its certain death to make you reluctant to go in without a boot.
alas. too bad you cannot usually watch carl's [mario maker] streams, cookie - you'd be spoiling yourself by default. and where'd be the fun in that? the fun missed, of seeing juzt.gasping.for.air / could.knock.juz.over.with.a.feather man.. ..i hope these trollble•makers get some nice coin from _somewhere_ for all the entertainment they help bring you, and us all
Oh, it's too bad you managed to dodge the boot stomp troll. If you stomp directly on the arrows, it automatically takes you down the pipe and you get crushed by the space being too small for the boot. That makes you less likely to go down the pipe after you get caught by the block/cloud troll.
21:10 reminds me of both "is only gaem, why you hef to be mad" and "watch your profamnity"... and possibly a thrid thing that I can't quite put my finger on right now
20:24 and 20:56 It happened but you somehow didn't notice. I think the actual meta is that "illusion of choice" but the troll creators mess the setups and contraption to melt the player's mind, so that way is different every time.
