After a broken heart in 2015, my brain got swamped by an avalanche of negative emotions which led to my diagnosis with Bipolar Disorder.
Bipolar disorder is a mental illness that causes extreme mood swings which include emotional highs (mania) and lows (depression).
Well, when your mood shifts to depression, some of the symptoms include feelings of worthlessness or guilt, feeling sad or hopeless for long periods of time, withdrawing from friends & family, losing interest in activities that you once enjoyed, having a significant change in appetite, lack of energy, having little or too much sleep & having problems with memory & concentration.
These depressive symptoms really affect sleep, energy, activity, judgment, behavior & the ability to think clearly.
Today, I'm going to tell stories of how I behaved which exhibited the depressive symptoms of Bipolar Disorder.
