In this lesson we'll examine electrically excited synchronous motors. We'll examine synchronous motor construction and theory of operation as well as electrical and mechanical properties. Additionally, we'll examine how varying rotor field current changes pull out torque and reactive power consumption during steady state operation. (Full Lecture)
