great job on the ladies for showing us what syncope is Like who cares if they were in the same uniform the fact is that it's about educating people about syncope not about what they r wearing. I have vasovagal syncope and was curious about these ladies answered all my questions and it was cute. thank-you.
I'm 12 years old and my twin sister had one today. I was crying and freaking out. It had never happened before and it was so sudden. She just said she had a nose bleed and fell back and her vision got completely black. All of my family was here when it happened. The thing that scared me was when my dad called 911. I'm just glad she's ok now. I'm definitely going to hold her tighter and closer.
The Little Sprinkles im doing those too but more frequent. dont worry it looks scary but its not dangerous. what could be dangerous is if she falls a split her head or something. but besides that everything is fine. take care
I had syncope last night after a heavy meal out with friends. I was out and very drowsy for much longer than this and didn't recover as miraculously. Spent the night in hospital. I'm still feeling like I've been through a mangle 24 hours later. Diagnosis was vaso-vagal syncope but I'm having a heart check just in case.
i have been diagnosed with this and i understand that this was just acting to get the general idea but she was smiling over something that isn't funny and the bag was unnecessary she fainted but she was still breathing just sayin.....
I wasn't as concerned about the acting as much as the lack of skill I observed. The Dentist and her assistant had the stethoscopes on backwards and neither knew how too or were comfortable doing blood pressure. I seriously doubt the dentist took the time to really check pule and heart rate so I am not sure what to garner from this other than the steps to follow if an emergency situation develops. I only hope they all were able to gain those needed skills before graduating rather than keep them at the level demonstrated by this video.
Did she ever ask the patient is she had experienced the symptoms before and when and how often? Right away she is prescribing anti anxiety medication ?
Look we never meant to offend ANYONE diagnosed or not. And yes were not professional actresses and sorry she was still breathing and had her bag gripped. For everyone who does like it thank you! It was only an assignment we didn't have much time to do in dental hygiene school.
This acting is worse than soap operas. I have orthastic hypotension vasovagal syncope. My friends say I act weird. I stutter ,or shake. I get pale. Have a hard time talking. Then right before passing out. I start sweating. I have a hard time swallowing. Heart races then. I'm out. It doesn't last long usually a headache after. I drink A lot of water. I even carry salt packages I'll eat straight salt if I have to. Then I'm ok
Patient was bulged right away, that increases the intra-thoracic pressure impairing the blood return to the heart, it also puts the patient at risk of of aspiration due to some of the air being pushed into the stomach. I think giving oxygen by nasal cannula or Non rebreather Mask would be appropriate.
This is so badly acted. It would've been a good idea to have "Amy" change her clothes because it is obvious that she works in the same place, seeing as though she's wearing the same bad trousers as the other "staff" in the room. Also, the smirk on Amy's face doesn't exactly make it more believable. Hey, when the girl asked for a pill, 2mg of diazepam would've done the trick very quickly and safely.
+Sue Mead Wow, way to go dissecting this video! You must have been born with the gift of Hollywood in your blood stream. Not sure if you can see it, but they are NOT paid actors. It's people like you who continue to ruin the internet, and for that I thank you.
Traineddelta what she have to be dead for you to bagher remember a bag mask is used for the following number one CPR number two critically injured patient number three rescue breathing and number four after surgery what you are seeing is number three that is what a Ambu bag is used for all four reasons any questions
Ya SUE NAILED IT !! Same Trousers and the Laugh is what Kills me !! Unfortunately I have been having the Freaking Fainting or TIRED SPELLS where I'm Running 100 miles an Hour and BOOM OUT ! I MEAN I Get 15 Seconds to react to what I know is going to happen. IT BITTERLY FEELS LIKE BEING CHOCKED OUT ! Oh and tapping out is not an option !! I see they did their best they're not actors and doing their best to show others on how to respond to a Crisis. BUT this was edited so why not show Pics of real folks that fainted while getting the breathing mask over Amy that way NOBODY SEE'S HER LAUGHING !! Going on 57,000 views so some of us liked it lol. Seriously though WATCH WHAT YOU EAT AND WHEN YOU EAT !!
I get it quite often, since there was no answer to your question I figured that I would answer it...sometimes I have no warning...but a lot of times I feel sick like nauseous, I start sweating real bad , I can hear like static in my ears or head and I get like tunnel vision...and if there is anyone around me I can hear there voices which sounds like they are getting further away from me and this all happens w/in seconds if I don't lay down and then that is it...I'm out and most of the time I wake up not knowing where I am at first...a lot of people say it isn't a big deal....which I disagree....I first got this when I was 16 and it happened maybe once a year or so....when I got into my early 20's it happened maybe once every 3 months or so.....by my late twenties it was happening mostly on a daily basis until my late 30's...and now I'm in my early 40's and it happens about 3 -4 times a week and because of me falling so much it caused a lot of other problems...back in my 30's I already had arthritis in my neck and back....my spinal cord is flattened ....I have bulging discs in my back and neck....my neck curve is reversed...I have a stress fracture in my lower back and pinched nerves also,.....and I also had a lot of stitches and staples in my head over the years from falling and hitting my head....for some people I guess it isn't that bad...but for me it ruined my life....and it still does....and probably always will...but I heard that some people only experience these episodes a couple times in their lives so then it wouldn't be too serious.
