@@saminekunis8680 pretty sure they just reverse engineered the uberschall preamp If synergy used EL34s to power the unit I'd get one, but for the price you might as well shell out the extra money to get the real thing The synergy only makes sense if you want multiple modules
@@saminekunis8680 I think you're right and wrong. It's more like the Twin Jet from my understanding...which essentially is the rev green's guts on the high gain channel, but with a first channel that can do crunch tones. The Rev blue had way less noise and a pure clean. But--supposedly--it wasn't as aggressive as the rev green. I've never played or owned a green before, so I wouldn't know. I can tell you all about the blue though. Great amp, terrible effects loop, weird as hell EQ and the Uberkab will fucking rattle your eyeballs if you stand close to it at rehearsal levels. It's one of the only amps that is truly an EXPERIENCE to behold. Bogner is my favorite amp brand, because of this. His amps are like sitting in a McLaren for the first time (my brother owns one). It's like living art. You might like it or not, but you will ALWAYS remember it.
Ops! For me, Uberschall was one of the best high gain amps that i've been testing. I love it. I only miss a overdrive channel. Good review and thanks for your time!
holy crap John every time i hear you play i want to pick up a guitar and at the same time i just want to hear you play ..thanks man ...i love your room its like a guitar players dream.
Just got the Syn-1 with the SLO module used and it’s already a blast 💥 I bought an Uberschäll module and i can’t wait to play it. Always like the Bogner Uberschäll tone after I’ve heard George Lynch’s Wicked Underground album 💿
Awesome demo as always, great job! I have the SYN2 with a Fryette 2/90/2 and have the SLO, Savage, Plexi modules. I find the high gain tones on the Savage red channel and SLO modules on either channel sound fairly similar. Wondering how different the Bogner Uber module is from the Savage - at a certain point I find there's overlap between the higher gain sounds, what's your take?
Only good things to say about the uberschall module. No matter where you set the knobs it sounds and plays great. Volume halfway down on your guitar and it still shreds. Still cleans up if the guitars volume is on one or two but still has attack and sustain on tap. Pull off pinch harmonics with ease on any pick up setting. Very aggressive sound. Makes me want to play better.
Having the best time! haha. When you've owned and tried so many things, it's amazing when you find something that brings a smile to your face like this, cause not many things do eventually. Awesome!
Could you get your hands on new Laboga Diamond Sound 40? We are all curious if you can make it chug and scream like MrHector, but a bit warmer and more saturated. You have your trickery... Or Perhaps Syn+Uberschall into FX Loop of Laboga? Cheers! \m/
Hey man, thanks for this amazing review! Maybe you can help me understand this, as I've trying to find info, and nothing is clear enough. I loved this module, but I also like the SLO. My goal is having those two modules running simultaneously, each one feeding a different amp. My question is, would the rack SYN-2 more than only host two modules and switch in between them also allow me to send the Bogner on the L channel and the SLO on the right? Or, should I buy two SYN-1? Thanks in advance! GREAT PLAYING BY THE WAY, you almost cut my head off with those killer riffs!
Hey John. I just paid for a 5153 stealth 50w, but typically after parting with my cash, delivery has been pushed back till the end of December. However they’ve got a synergy 30w head in stock, which I’m thinking about asking for instead. What would you recommend?
How does this Synergy Uberschall module sound conpared to an actual real Uberschall amp? Is there a slight difference or a big difference or no difference?
John, given that TAE has a solid state power amp do you think it does anything weird to the tone of any of your amps or any colouring or anything unpleasant at all ? (didnt seem to be in this clip)
How would you say this Synergy model (or even a real Uber) fares against The H&K Warp X? Curious because I've heard the Warp referred to as a "mini-Uber"... Thanks!
I'd love to hear Andy Timmons or Joe Satriani demo this with their musical styles. It sounds really great on this drop tuned stuff, but I think that this rig would really bring a lot to a few different styles of Rock. I 'd like to know how the expander is being used here. We are hearing the Synergy 50-50 AND the Expander. Correct? What exactly is the expander's job in this video? I don't hear effects. Is the 50-50 cranked and then the expander attenuates it?
Ok all right, so what is your amp ranking right now? I've heard you are working on a new album, what amps do you have with you? Any opinions on Hesu cabs or their Deamon speakers?
Did you tried the bogner ecstasy module ? It is a little lower gainy but it's sound amazing too! I see you have a lot of amps plugged into an ampete 88s studio, how do you handle the position of the waza tube expander? Only one cab plugged? And all your amps have differents wattage (like 40 w for the H&K GD deluxe, 120w for engl savage, 100w for the synergy pa), does the waza tube expander saves the little switch position in the back for input level (10W-50W-100W) to allow you switch between amps without having to move it manually? (i'm thinking of buying one to make all my amps to the same level)
I've been using the Ecstasy Red pedal for a while and thought it was the best distortion pedal I've ever used but I just recently got the Uberschall pedal and it absolutely rips. Would love to try the real deal or a Synergy preamp version.
Hello mate. Love your playing and your channel. You doen to earth when comes to reviews. I am into tones a lot. And I would love you to try 2 amps combined for a tone that I love. Uber and plexi together. The plexi must treble, mids and highs and presence and really high. And the uber you set normal. Would love you to try that. The combination of both is perfect for riffs and lead
Have you tried a Fryette/VHT Ultra Lead? Synergy should be releasing UL and Deliverance modules, curious if you'll give those a go. Also, saw you on Coffee with Ola, great segment!
I love how all Fryette's amps have that in common, Sig-X owner, GASsing for either/both mentioned for a wet/dry rig; I'm looking forward to hearing the brutal tones you'll pull out of those modules! Cheers!
Uberschalls are absolutely berzerk. I could tell just from your face that tone was taking you on an adventure. Best live tone I ever heard for metal was Josh from cattle decapitation in 2002. He was using an Uberschall and an Engl fireball simultaneously. I'd love to see you do a video or a series of videos on amp blending. Nothing beats a quad rig through 4 different cabs. My all time god tone was an HK Triamp MKI. Bogner Extacy, Marshall JMP1, and an Egnater TOL ie4 simultaneously. Oof.
sour on bogner because I have (currently on consignment) a Shiva head with the silver chassis thats supposed to be the best year they ever made them and it sound TERRIBLE and the fan in it is so noisy. hate that amp but the uberschall seems like a totally different world. If only my current amp had an fx loop so It would be worth getting the syn 1 setup
Uberschall has always been awesome but...it has some uper mids I don't love. I prefer Mesa dual rectifier. Uber has a slightly course grain to the distortion... I prefer the tighter finer grain of the Mesa. And Mesa has all that chug on the bottom. But yeah, as you said in the begining...being right in front of the cab will accentuate it's drawbacks.
