The REAL UL with the KT88 powersection is a different beast I can say. Preamp should be the same on the CL and the module. It is the powersection that makes it legendary.
@@Krypt666Norway You nailed it man. The combo of that kt88 power section with a pittbull preamp is absolutely magic. And while the Cl's and CLX all capture the pittbull moko (clear, tight, immediate response), there is nothing quite like the UL. Word is that Steven Fryette is either going to be making them again or doing a revised mk2 UL. I miss mine so much; should have never let it go.
Browne, you're looking slimmer these days brotha! Keep doing whatever you're doing! Also, I'm 2 months into my Riffhard subscription and loving it. Slow going for me with a busy family life, but it's still very enjoyable and effective. Thanks and Cheers!
I love Steven Fryette's gear, The pitbull ultralead is a beast and I hope to get me one of these Synergy devices with certain modules including this one. Great stuff demo wise as you always deliver John. Your tastes are pretty similar to my own, You cracked out the Framus Cobra which is a great amp recently and I enjoyed seeing it get some love and respect. I'm soon to grab the Revv Generator based purple pedal as it suits my wants/needs plus also upgrade my Diezel VH pedal to the newer version as it's been ideal for rhythm work into my range of clean options that are all for taking and making the most from numerous pedals, depending on what I need/want. I'll be certain to check out riffhard. All the very best your way John and the same to all, cheers! Dean Edit: Forgot to mention the even more recent Marshall Valvestate that you whipped out and I totally agree, they are really decent especially offering that contour control which is so powerful when not abused to remove too much mid-range but just carve out a little bit. Their stuff since the JCM2000 range hasn't been my sort of thing at all, I have and love my DSL50 head, The few exceptions have been limited edition builds like the YJM modified Plexi that they did and the beast Kerry King JCM800 model too, I wish they'd bring back the contour control on the MG series as I'd grab one for certain uses as my Valvestates still work just fine but could konk out anytime!
Thanks John. I'd like to see a direct comparison of this module vs the Deliverance module. I own the Deliverance module and I'm trying to decide if I should add this one to the collection.
Thanks for the demo. This is the module I'm getting. Everyone has the same negative comment about the small eq sliders. Just hard to use. This is the reason I sold one of my lunch box amps, sound good, but annoying to adjust one setting without inadvertently changing another.
Great video, only challenge is there is never stock of the Syn2 in Australia. I believe synergy are out of stock too? Great sounds... one day, one day it will be mine
Sounds great as a module, but compared to the Pitbull Head, I think you nailed your tone with that one instantly! I think with more tweaking with your cab and the lovely MB75, can't wait to hear the original!
This 5 band EQ has so much more power in shaping the sound, than compared with a Mesa Mark V, especially if you play in heavy drop tunes which of course JP has never done, Drop D was as far as i remember his lowest guitar tone. This module except for the power section, which is an EL 34 and not 6 L6 as in the power amp of the synergy amp, comes pretty close to the Pitbull Superlead/ Masterbuilt
@@JohnBrownemonuments yeah I think that's prob because they're a small company, they don't send free stuff but I hope you get to do a demo of it cause it's a killer amp
John Browne yeah, Henning likes the head more but maybe gonna sell one syn2 and order the head🤔 Anyway, check out the evh 5150iii stealth it is ridiculous how good the amp is! And as always, great video!
@@JohnBrownemonuments I'm about to put new valves in mine(after I replace a resistor i blew because I'm a dummy and had the multimeter on the wrong setting when checking bias) and just curious as to what you put in and your results.
John Browne haha if thts the case sure, it just seems often in rabeas and your videos that theres constant mentioning of hot weather n being drenched in sweat haha cheers John, love your videos and playing style, hope theres new content either with monuments or flux conduct coming soon
i wish these videos were done with real cabs. two notes stuff always makes tube amps sound like modellers. defeats thew purpose of using/ demoing a tube amp modular system.
