I bought a large guitar pedal for my son a few years ago, he never used it and it was ready to be sold, but then of course you changed my mind. MOAR pedals! Great tones Sir.
I have been looking at pedals for a bit, some sound really nice and my synths would be happy to have some new friends to play with. Correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm better off using vst effects instead of pedals, right? (studio use only)
VST effects do more for less money for sure, but a hardware synth with hardware pedals is a nice tactile experience. It comes down to budget, workflow preference and taste. :) I do both.
I love synth distortion. When I was in my old high school band, my wannabe Trent Reznor ass used to run my Microkorg through a Boss Metal Zone and it sounded absolutely nasty but we were that kind of band, haha.
I still have my hm2 and metal zone around and let them mangle Synths and drums and whatnot. It's just fun to go over the top sometimes :) Channel your Trent Reznor and go wild!
@@fclefjefff4041 So true. And there is a reason there are still analog distortion devices out there: They simply sound better and retain note clarity way better than digital stuff.
there's so much fun things you can do with pedals and chain orders. I like to put a slightly driven fuzz behind a reverb, the dynamics of the swells and tails make for nice roars. If you ever have some cash to spare (like when your mini is finally yours ;D) Check out the Walrus Eons. it's a 5 in 1 fuzz that you can starve or overvolt and is really versatile so the price is pretty ok considering what you get. it's fun and i'm glad you're showing off affordable pedals here since the usual route is to go boutique on youtube for introducing people to this kind of stuff. Buying used is also highly recommended. Glad you' and your folks are healthy again, had covid 2 weeks ago and that was NOT nice. Cheers :)
Thanks man! The poly-distortion video might be out as soon as tomorrow night. Going to a synth festival today...we'll see if I'm tired later tonight. :)
