Responding to a request from Total Contact Saddles , we are putting the new addition to the TCS range through its paces!
I speak to Pat and Debbie who have been TCS users for the past 14 and 10 years on their thoughts of new saddle.
TCS has not endorsed or sponsored this video, this is a review and test.

They really are an amazing saddle, honestly it really bucks the trend of what everybody knows of thinks. Our family have used these saddles roughly for 15 years, on everything from a a Clydesdale to a Highland. 😂 We have never had any issues with them. We have always padded with the ethos of you should be able to feel them but not be uncomfortable.... Because chances are if you are uncomfortable they are. We've never had any marks or back issues either.

Wow that's not what I expected either. I've never heard of a total contact saddle before. Thanks for sharing this!

Love it! I’m excited because I finally ordered and received mine, I got the long billets, because I didn’t know and just picked one, 😂. I haven’t used it yet, figuring out what girth to buy and the size. But I’m excited and your videos really really help me. Thank you so much.

Girth size will depend on padding... But generally speaking most dressage girths will fit the long ones to my recollection. Ive ridden In both.... I prefer the short to help adjust when you're out. 👍 That said had no issues with the long.

They are blooming marvellous we've been using them for 15ish years now on everything from a 13.2 Highland To a 18hand Clydesdale. Will fit anything with the right padding. Check out the the "total Contact community" on Facebook.... Make sure you said I sent you and you'll get a bit of a discount "matt10"

@@MrMrsTEquestrian absolutely LOVE him 😍 so jealous of all the cobs you all have in Europe. I’m US based and we have mostly quarter horses and thoroughbreds

Thabk you very much! He's a properly good success story, originally bred by a less than faverable dealer, then saved from a kill pen as he had strangles, I met him at 6 his previous owner loaned him to me and we just gelled together like mac and cheese. He was a bit understood and I've got no agenda (I don't compete I don't see the point... I already know he's awesome I dont need a rosette for that) We've overcome him being barn sour, he'd gallop home after half a mile head in the air through traffic, wouldn't stand at gates, wouldn't let you groom him without biting. And we've got past it all.... We have a mixed herd of 2 cobs (12 and 30) an appaloosa (13) an Irish Sport Horse (30) and a Welsh Section D (26) we only retired the other cob last year... There is a video on here of her.... It was actually her last ride 😔 I do however like a quarter horse... But they're a bit boring.... Cobs are far from that! Most of our adventures are documented on the "hack 1000 miles" Facebook group 👍 I've waffled on enough - MrT

That looks like a fantastic new TCS model! I have a four year old Total Contact Saddle that I love so much that I considered buying another one in a different colour. I've noticed that the stirrup bars are no longer placed in the middle of the saddle but about an inch (?) closer to the back (only guessing from photos). I was wondering, does this feel any different to ride in than the older models? I'd also be interested to know how "normal" stirrup leathers look and feel with this new placement of the stirrup bars, it looks as if the slit for the end of the leathers kinda is in the wrong place now?

So regular stirrup leathers still fit but the bulk of them really bulks out the top of the saddle.... Not very comfy. As for placement it feels better than before.... And I've noticed no difference in my lad in the last 6months

I'm definitely buying one but not sure if I should get short billet or long ones. I'm only 5ft 2" and was hoping for short ones
@MrMrsTEquestrian
@MrMrsTEquestrian 2 года назад
So as our preference is short ones. Because you can adjust them once you've Been out... Our Debbie (in the vid) has the long ones and has to make all her adjustments before she rides.

Thanks for replying 🙂 I will get the shorter ones as all my girths are long
