well, its not some complex playing, u can use ur ear or find tabs and base it on him playing it, unless ur a beginner in which case, probably not the best song to learn when just starting out
+Daniel Chachanashvili you're a beginner? this song's not for you... you're a pro? learn it by ear... oooookeeeyyyyy so, what's the point of this video again?
everyone is busy with the fast intro and the solo if Beast And The Harlot, they forgot that the appergio picking at chorus is the part that make this song different than most mainstream song in mid 2000s.
+Casey J Wasnt a bunch of chords. just quick alternate palm muting and staccato notes. Not hard, if you know anything about guitar you should be able to see that part and be like " Oh ok"
The reason Syn gets rated the way he does is because of what he brings to the band as a whole. His style takes metal but the way the songs are constructed (especially from a guitar point of view) is more like jazz guitar. Of which he graduated from Berkley School of Music with top honors.
watch a vid when they are playing together and you see how they just play off each other, i find it really amazing when 2 guitarist can come together and play in perfect harmony.
his tone is really bass heavy. scoop the mids a bit, not much treble. give it just enough gain to get that gritty hiss in your sound, because if you add more gain then it will end up sounding like old school thrash metal instead.
Damn right. I'm playin shit now that even a year ago I thought I'd never be able to play, mainly from seeing ppl playing like this and using it as inspiration instead of letting it discourage me. Practice practice and more practice. Amazing what that can do for you
It was pick harmonics. Its the pressure difference applied to string and fret to change the pitch and frequency of the send as to bend the sound upward
if you watch this now you can hear how not so clean he played it , and if you watch the video where he dissected this song he even says that he couldn't even play some of these parts at all when he recorded this solo because he was too busy drinking and being a rockstar so he basically punched in every part. Glad that he is still awesome to this day.
