At home in Durham, Duke won their first game of the ACC conference season with an 86-66 home victory over the Orange. After not hitting a three-pointer in the first half, Duke hit all of their eight three-point attempts in the second half which helped blow the game open. Mark Mitchell scored 18 of his team-high 21 points in the first half. Jared McCain hit four three-pointers and scored 14 of his 18 points in the second half. Jeremy Roach added 17 points. Maliq Brown scored a game-high 26 points for Syracuse. Brown also grabbed seven rebounds. Judah Mintz had 18 points, six assists, four rebounds, and three steals.
