1 of my early super sportsman heroes made this race, Scott Ausherman. Sadly we lost Scott a few years ago. He was a good fabricator and innovater in his prime

I remember Danny Smith used to come to Australia and race at Premier Speedway in Warrnambool, home of the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic. He always had great battles with Garry Rush, Max Dumsney and Brett Lacey.

I was there!

I wish they would run on a full 1 mile track again. Eh, but to hear the names of men who I have been following for decades, it's fine.

I didn't know that Kinser was killing it all the way back in the early 80s lol

The size of that starting field. Over 70 cars attempted to qualify. Compare that to today where most of the time you can make the main event just by showing up. That flag stand is the tallest one I've ever seen.
