Description: I recently watched a video where a SYRP Genie Mini platform was used to capture an epic motion timelapse with a DSLR... I’ve wanted to try something like that far ages, and that was the tipping point: I went hunting on eBay and soon managed to get one second hand! I prefer to buy used kit rather than new, as long as it’s in good condition, since I know I can easily sell it again with little or no loss if it’s not what I want! I had a rare free afternoon and the sunset looked like it might be good, so I headed down to the beach to try it out with my Nikon Z7 and 50mm f/1.4G lens. The sunset wasn’t quite as spectacular as I’d hoped, but I think I still managed to get a nice motion timelapse sequence!
Timelapse settings: Nikon Z7 + 50mm f/1.4G, Shutter Priority 1/60s and Auto ISO, 2100 frames at 2s intervals - around 70 minutes after which the memory card was full! Compiled to 30fps and downscaled / cropped to 4k in Adobe Photoshop CC.
Last week, I reached 1000 subscribers (now more than 1100 😀) and I wanted to record a quick video to say thanks to everyone who’s supported the channel, so I thought I would combine that with the timelapse test and also take my twig stove along so I could brew up some coffee ☕️ The twig stove is an awesome way to cook on a fire while keeping it small, efficient and contained - that means I can use it in situations when I might not otherwise be able to have a fire 🔥
I’m really pleased to have reached a thousand subscribers and the community that’s starting to build up around the channel is really awesome! Making these videos is a lot of fun and I’m excited to be able to take you along on my trips to show you some of the fantastic scenery and wildlife I encounter 😀 I’ve got loads of plans for the future and I’m looking forward to seeing how the channel and community grow! Thanks very much for your support 🙏👍
