+Riley Whittaker Music Yep,as the guy above/below/w.e said,it's muscle memory, the reason why you see heavy rock metal whatever band guitarists be able to go apeshit and still hit the right notes is exactly that reason, apart from complex solo pieces,it's all automatic as in you don't have to think, your fingers do 90% of the job them selves.
This song goes from 5/4 to 3/4 and alternates till the end then we get a 4/4 and then back to our “odd” time signature, 5/4 to end it out. That is freaking genius! These guys are amazing!!
@@cristobalsaldano2366 well they started and ended in 5/4 so I know what im talking about, you can count it if you want 😂 or I can give you some lessons
@@rudyvasquez9343 I get where you're coming from, but I mean you can count and it would be 9/8 or 9/16 depending on the tempo, and even if you look it up on the internet it would also say so. It also helps to count how many notes the guitar riff has :)
I know John personally. He's an amazing man. Definitely a musical genius. He loves to push himself and writes difficult drum parts because he loves the challenge. :)
You fuckers know a dude's politics isn't their only defining trait right? I don't agree with all of John's politics, but I'm not going to start labeling him just based off of surface level knowledge of his politics.
They weren't in time in the chorus, but otherwise it's the best performances they've done of that song. They don't do that song very well live, which is a shame because it's a great song.
its definitely not flawless haha its an incredibly difficult song to perform live; as evident here. Serj is really out of his comfort zone playing the acoustic part and singing at the same time. But generally it's just an incredibly difficult song to pull off arrangement and dynamics wise live
Man this is when Sergio used to sing/scream. Those days are long gone. However, I still love this band. Would love to see them do another album together!.
Picking and singing at the same time is VERY difficult and not everybody can do that. On the other hand strumming the guitar and singing isnt too hard and is quite common
tricky rhythms, effortlessly played, gallons of soul, and Serge possibly sounds even more impassioned than the CD version. Frickin awesome, hope SOAD regroup for one more album.
Jason Mercieca Aside from the muscle memory, it helps your memory to close your eyes but I doubt he's closing his eyes to remember - its more of an unconscious thing as well.
Jason Mercieca That's what I was thinking! He probably just remembered it. Played it enough that it stuck. Props to him for doing that AND singing that wicked vocal melody. And the dude that said that there was someone in the back playing it rather than Serj? I highly doubt. The acoustic track lines up rather nicely with what Serj is playing.
It s probably one of the most difficult song to sing I ve heard in my 45 years on this planet… just incredible how he perfectly managed all these tempo changes and all these scream distorsion 😅
0:13-0:55 weird hearing Daron covering a Bauhaus song. However, he has somewhat mentioned that disintegration and bloodflowers by the Cure are big SOAD influences.
Sweet berries ready for two Ghosts are no different than you Ghosts are now waiting for you Are you Sweet berries ready for two Ghosts are no different than you Ghosts are now waiting for you Are you, dreaming Dreaming tonight Dreaming alright Do we, do we know When we fly When we, when we go Do we die? Before I watched this video, I just thought this song belonged to the SoaD "medium" songs category (yeah, they do have some of them too). Seriously, now this is my 2nd favorite (blame Aerials) SoaD song ever. This performance was so awesome, they made me see a song I used to neglect differently. Seriously.
+Davi Weikert aha i'll probably do it when I turn 18 you know I still got 6 months left to figure out what I want first... but SOAD will definitely be featured on my skin lol
"so these are songs that we wrote, huh, they're are composed of musics and lyrics, and this will came out in a form of an album and huh it will be audible by the human hear and that huh"
They are. That's why they haven't kicked John out of the band because of his support of Trump, because thay are all really chill people who don't let politics get in the way of friendship
When I first heard this song during the chorus the color that it gave me in my mind (i think i was prolly high) was that blue/purple combo of awesomeness.... nice to see that here too.... GREAT SONG
