I do believe they are the best alternate metal band that has ever existed due to that, and yet almost all of their songs have an important message behind them.
Soil also. Lots of stuff from the first album and people all request the second album. I know its not his fault because he's just taking requests, but it would be nice if people added a little chronology to their requests.
@@metheus108 or, learned to read ? Like, see someone else already posted.. why not just chip in under their post too? Instead of 6-9 posts of the exact same band and the exact same Song. 🤔
Love these guys so much. I got to see them at a festival before anyone knew who they were. It was like the middle of the day, at a day long show in Las Vegas with Stone Temple Pilots and Cypress Hill. And they came on stage, and the whole audience kind of turned away to talk, and get beer, and bathrooms etc. Then they started playing.... and there was a collective double take and everyone just kind of stopped what they were doing. By the second song they had everyone jumping around and moshing. It was incredible to see. And it was even more awesome to see them blow up and go on to make another classic album right after their first.
I had a similar experience at Ozzfest 98. They were I think the second band to hit the second stage. It couldn't have been later than noon and exactly the same thing happened. By the second or third song we were all moshing our asses off. This was at the Detroit show.
@@ddubuque666 My first time was at ozzfest too , I was there for other bands and had no idea who they were at all. The crowd just was amazed once they began playing . They were the highlight of the entire show.
I read an interview early 2k where the singer said this sound came out of them naturally Its like a melodic bipolar metal circus type sound It is what makes system of a down so unique
Hey just wanted to say that I really like ur reactions... they are by far the best ones on youtube, that I have seen.. And I was wondering if u could react to Volbeat
I’ll never forget the first time I heard this, it was 1998 and I was driving my 1985 GMC Safari with my pals. My buddy Adam (RIP) puts this disc into my Discman (plugged into my cassette deck) and the rest is history.
this song was not only the first time i heard SOAD.. it was also the first time i learned i could burn a CD myself.. i burned a copy of Sugar for free, loved it so much, i went & bought the album.. it was a spectacular album and i recommend it to any political activist or heart felt individual..
Give a listen to David Gilmour (from Pink Floyd) his solo work is incredible his live in Pompeii concert is amaziinngg give a listen to In any tongue, The Blue, that performance on The Great gig in the sky ugh so good
Maybe you do a One Hit Wonder Day I Ran - Flock Of Seagulls 96 Tears - Question Mark and the Mysterians Beds are Burning - Midnight Oil Whiter Shade of Pale - Procol Harum Incense and Peppermints - Strawberry Alarm Clock All the Young Dudes - Mott the Hoople
Love the reactions dude, really enjoy the way you tend to churn through a good few songs on any artist you end up checking out, so glad I stumbled on your channel. Also just in case you have somehow managed to live in LA but never listened them I would highly recommend giving the Red Hot Chili Peppers a go, I think you’d really enjoy them. My personal recommendation for a starting point would be “Can’t Stop”, but honestly you could pick whatever you feel like and still find gold. If you’re interested in live performances as well any song from the Slane Castle live performance is amazing (Californication and Venice Queen being my personal highlights). All the best my dude, looking forward to your next set of videos 👌🏻
You should listen to more of the first album! Every song is golden and won the metal album of the year. I saw these guys in 1998 at Ozzfest. Had never heard them before, but they blew my mind so hard that they immediately became my favorite band right there and then and still remains to this day.
Where are the new pissed off bands? Am I too old and out of the loop? Where are this generations Sex Pistols, Rage, 2Pac, System... who are the angry youth in music? They have everything to rage against but all I hear is pussy woke pish. Recommendations pleas...
Glad to see ya loving SOAD, Jamel! They are the one of the most underrated bands in rock history. Them Armenian boys know how to bring it! Hot Damn! And thumbs up to John Dolmayan! “So I wanted to present a different view and to give kids out there who think differently and who are critical thinkers, not necessarily following the norm, that there is a different option, you can think differently and that it’s okay to have diversity of opinion as long as it’s done peaceably”.
I'd love to see your reaction to Opeth. My favorite song of theirs is "Reverie/Harlequin Forest". Dude has literally one of the best voices in metal, both singing and growling. The music itself is on another level as well.
In 99 this is the first song that got me into them, loved them from the start, then moved to Cali and saw them live and truly appreciated what these 4 guys do, they are seriously a band that can throw down with the fkn best of them,,,,
You have to react to argentinian band eruca sativa: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-X3OMM0osjlk.html -Magoo or ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-V4kjNe1ToOw.html -Fuera o Mas alla saludos desde Argentina
Dude yes! First song I ever heard was a live video of when my train pulls in. I dont usually watch 14 minute videos, but I'm glad I did. Blew me away, now I've seen him 3 times and got to meet him.
Loved these reactions. I used to date a great guy who loved this band. :) I'd love to see some reactions to Hozier when you have a moment or two. You may already know Take Me To Church, but any song by him is fantastic ❤ Thanks👍
Hed Pe!! Hed Pe!! Song Serj from SOAD did with Hed Pe called Feel Good, other songs by Hed Pe, POS, Killing Time, Ground, Suffa, Renegade or IFO. Thx & keep the great reactions coming 👊🤘
This was my system cherry popper. They had me 3 seconds into this song. Thanks for doing this its as close as i can get to hearing them for the 1sr time again
definately check out mastodon. Steambreather , clandestiny , curl of the burl , the motherload , the high road. All amazing music videos and really good music.
Great reaction! When I was sixteen they were playing this song when I experienced my first mosh pit and I got fucked up by this big native guy pushed me from the back and landed hard af on my arm but everyone around me stopped and helped me up I will never forget that day... My first rock concert, my first mosh pit and it was epic!
Jamel - a recommendation for you, that is sure to blow your mind. One style or genre of rock music that you haven’t listened to is called metalcore. There is a band named “Architects” that has both incredible lyrics and phenomenal talent - I really, really think that you’d enjoy their work. A nice introduction song is called “Doomsday”, written by the lead singer regarding the death of his brother, who was also a founding member of the band. I can’t stress enough how much you’d be blown away. Keep up the great work and cheers buddy.
Personally i cant stand metalcore. But i guess thats just one of the beautiful things about music, even something i hate somebody else will love. Music is music man.
Nice!! Every time I watch this video, I see Serj and think of Caparezza... I'd suggest some song from him... TOTALLY different stuff, but I love it. Vengo dalla Luna, Abiura di Me, or Eroe...

UPDATE: Dimash "Our Love " was blocked, here is a Google drive link drive.google.com/open?id=1vpReoHMHrsTTnq_tp2b6Y2vR1ytsZP5F ( + this one is only a slide show but with English lyrics just for understanding of the meaning ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GrJ2LwrgvKk.html )
I think it is about time for you to jump down the rabbit hole that is Gojira. You can't go wrong with them either! Flying Whales, Backbone, Toxic Garbage Island, Oroborus, Art of Dying, Explosia, From the Sky, and the list goes on and on and on...

Obituary , Entombed etc... Their shit was fn LOUD !!!! Twas their first album tour as well ! I beliewve they opened for Faith no More at Bogarts .
Please do I-E-A-I-A-I-O from System of a Down. It wasn't a hit or anything, but as I'm sure you noticed, Serj has amazing control of his voice and this song is pretty much a hardcore tongue twister. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_Ho_ZsIktaw.html
Reaction to Between the buried and me. Maybe White Walls or Ants of the Sky. Also, react to Converge: Jane Doe. Phoenix in Flames and Dark Horse as songs. Last: Hatebreed.
Please check out Deer dance by S.O.A.D also, no official video but something with lyrics in, think you're gonna like it since it mentions the famous STAPLES center which you talked about working at in previous reactions. Have a great day.
Alright man, hope you see this, but 100% you need to check out this track. Please Please Please Trust me on this one! KoRn - Daddy It's the last song of their debut album and is basically Jonathan Davis (singer) dealing with the trauma of being sexually abused as a child. The raw emotion and pain in this track is palpable. Apparently the cries and screams recorded are real, the engineer realised something powerful was happening, told the band to just keep playing and kept the tapes rolling. After the initial touring of the album, it was over 20 years before he could ever bring himself to play this song live again. As described by the singer himself. "When I was a kid, I was being abused by somebody else and I went to my parents and told them about it, and they thought I was lying and joking around. They never did shit about it. They didn't believe it was happening to their son.... I don't really like to talk about that song. This is as much as I've ever talked about it...." - Jonathan Davis
Lol this song is about cocaine. "People are always chasing me down Tryna push my face to the ground Where all they do is suck out my motherfucking brains." No Serj, that's the police. You're armed, committed an act of DV, and are on the lam while high on coke, lmao
