It's strange, this channel is so far out of my usual wheelhouse it's almost another dimension (war, strategy, weapons, fighting, games and my other nerdy hobbies), but her breakdowns are so bloody good that it makes a topic I've had no previous interest in so absolutely fascinating. Yeah it helps that I'm a big System of a Down fan, but it's Lollies technical knowledge and enthusiasm is infectious. Everything about how she does this is brilliant, the epitome of a natural teacher. Not sure if she reads the comments as RU-vid comment sections are usually cancer but I hope she does and sees how much people enjoy what she does.

Other SOAD recommendations: - Sugar (it’s weird but super fun and interesting, one of my faves) - Question (gorgeous vocals and interesting composition) - Hypnotize (gorgeous vocals) - BYOB (if you like the switch ups in Toxicity, BYOB does that even harder) They pick really great singles honestly because these are all singles but I’d recommend them anyway. For non-singles, Streamline, Radio/Video and Holy Mountains have really good/interesting vocals.
@jimmux_v0

tbh, you can't choose wrong with SOAD, but the next easy step would be something like a Grammy-winning song? If so - B.Y.O.B. (sadly it's bombs, not booze/beer)

Have fun when you get to the Mesmerise/ Hypnotise era. The guitarist Daron makes a massive jump up with vocal presence, that compliments Serj, and shows an adaptive range to their capabilities. Highlights: Violent Pornography, Question! and Lonely Day (lonely day is Daron as lead with Serj as Backing vocals)

You should check out "The Great Gig in the Sky" by Pink Floyd, the *studio version*, very important. The original version was done by a woman named Clare Torry, who ad-libbed the piece. The version that was released on Pink Floyd's seminal "Dark Side of the Moon" album was the second take, the first was cut short, when Clare used a word. Oh yeah, the song doesn't have any words. It's just an emotional trip, like, your soul may leave your body. It's one of the greatest pieces of improv ever recorded.

Fun fact: MB14, a beatboxer you covered on your channei (quitte recently) did a cover of that very song on a loopstation battle. Loopstation battle which is probably the most famous on youtube: MB14 vs Saro. I won't spoil, but MB14 is a master of his craft and Saro gave him a good fight. As both being french could we expect otherwise? Sub fun fact : That year, MB14 was already acknowledged as a master, and contender for the title. When Saro, an underdog qualified for stage levels he warned everyone : "don't care about his random pods with too short wire as a headset, this guy delivers". Turn out they had to face each others in later stage of the competition: the famous battle I was talking about.

If you like switchs I heavily suggest you B.Y.O.B. Hand in hand with their meaningfull lyrics, two things that made me love SOAD are their exquisitness and their compositions. If you want to listen to Serj's vocals on another perpective (his solo career), I would also suggest the featuring he made with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra - the songs "Empty Walls" and "Lie Lie Lie" for example. Also, I was about to suggest Jinjer - "Pisces" but you already reacted to it :p Another good one from them would be "Judgement (& punishment) one take". Thank you for the in depth explanations and funny details : )

SOAD is magic. I wish they would create new music. I would love to see your reaction to Stray Kids "God's Menu"

this being the first vid i've ever seen of you i thought: "i hope she's gonna get it" and then after your very first comment it was like "OMG SHE FUCKING GETS IT SO GOOD". Amazing video, love watching strangers on the internet fall in love with my favorite songs
