Hello. I've a question . I've win 8.1. I've C and D partition. Partition D: has System Volume Information folder and recycle bin. I want to reset pc (to win8.0) ... should I delete D drive files? (There are 2 options. Only c or all drives) I want to still have the factory reset option in the future... And clean pc (delete many restore points, and files) What should I do? I don't know if delete D: (whete is system volume information) its important to make factory reset in the future...

It didn't work for me. I also noticed something different in my cmd than yours when I booted it up. Yours says: X:\windows\system32> While on my cmd it said: X:\Sources> And that's it. What does that mean? Can anyone with some expertise in this matter help me out? Does this mean restore is not possible in my case?

I had a boot damage at my boot drive as some files' integrity had been compromised. I noticed that adding the exact path "c:\windows" did not actually find any system restore points (which I was sure to have made and named myself). However, after you truncate the path to just root of your boot drive "c:\", it did find my system restore points.

Hello there. We have very same problem. When booting it will go to choose keyboard layout and only have 2 options after that which are "troubleshoot" & "turn off". After following your instructions, it went through but after it restarts, it only went again to the choose keyboard layout. After I updated my laptop to window 10, am unable to use the search bar and the window log on the screen to access further menus such as control panel. Hello great vid the only one that made the restore start too work. BUT once It’s finished the restore and I click restart. It just open back at the same blue screen I opened command prompt in. Hey everyone, i just got mine working and wanted to let everyone know what i did. I learned from somewhere that you need to hold left shift while restarting to get to more options, after that i went to system restore and there were restore points whereas previously it wasn’t working. my first restore point didn’t work so i chose another and it did work. i hope everyone can try this and get it working (i also did the command prompt commands listed in these videos just for safe measure and they also worked whereas they didn’t before) so basically i’m telling you to do the left shift restart thing before trying anything of this

If the os crashed completely (if it tell you there is no operating system on the drive), then you have just totally reinstall a new windows
